atbarr
I just picked up 5 lbs. of Clay, I'm going use this in my G21, G30SF, and G41 with 230 gr. Bayou Bullets for Production, GSSF, and Steel. What would be a safe starting load for minor around 145 PF? Currently I use those bullets and Solo1000, I'm at 3.5 grs.
noylj
A safe starting load is the lowest starting load you can find after checking several manuals. However, in your case, you will be below the manual's start load since you want a velocity of ~630fps. Some where around 2.7gn Clays? Be sure it isn't International or Universal. Thanks! 2.7 sounds safe. And it is Clays.
bigdawgbeav
Might want to go to a lighter bullet. Lots have folks have suggested that in the past. Smaller bullet means more powder, but might be able to get it down far enough from a PF standpoint. Just looking at Hodgdons data you can run a 180gr. with 3.8gr. Clays and make 141PF. Of course YMMV... but it's something to consider.

atbarr
With the 230 gr. Bayou Bullet and 3.2 grs. of Clays, the PF is 148 out of my G41. I tried 2.7 and 3.0, but had some FTE.
EkuJustice
Ya I think there is only so low you can go with the 45 glocks. With the slide weight and the fact that you can only go so low on a recoil spring to function and still out the gun in battery as well as being able to eject the round. The 230 grain bullets are on the heavy side for that PF
