JAF1680
Hi, I was looking at building a new rifle and putting a JP barrel on it. I saw them on Midway, but the compensator is already installed and it is blended. Is there any trick to getting them perfectly realigned? Thanks
Pat Miles
Screw the comp off and screw it back on again.
HRider
I have not taken mine off yet, but JP puts them on with Loctite. They advise applying heat and using a wooden dowel inserted through the ports to unscrew the comp without leaving marks. Hurley
RiggerJJ
Heat it up real good with a torch or heat gun. a barrel clamp is advised. and you can carefully use a crescent wrench if you protect the comp with a thin layer of rubber or something between the wrench and comp that will stand the hot metal. I remove mine quite often to clean the crown. Put them back on with a single drop of blue loctite. jj
MickB
^^^^ What JJ said. Just tighten it up snug when reinstalling. Since it is blended, it is already timed as well..... Mick
