Blended JP compensator removal and reassembly

Hi,

I was looking at building a new rifle and putting a JP barrel on it. I saw them on Midway, but the compensator is already installed and it is blended. Is there any trick to getting them perfectly realigned?

Thanks

I have not taken mine off yet, but JP puts them on with Loctite. They advise applying heat and using a wooden dowel inserted through the ports to unscrew the comp without leaving marks.

Heat it up real good with a torch or heat gun. a barrel clamp is advised. and you can carefully use a crescent wrench if you protect the comp with a thin layer of rubber or something between the wrench and comp that will stand the hot metal.

I remove mine quite often to clean the crown. Put them back on with a single drop of blue loctite.
