S1050 index pawl - which side does pin come out?

Recommended Posts

I have one of the 1-Ton Harbor Freight arbor presses. Great value, but relatively simple.

After TMZ suggested how he used his arbor press, I did a little googling for something to hold a punch. Came across the following chuck from Matthews Engineering:

Quick shipping. Should be in the mailbox this afternoon and looks to fit the bill.

Will report back once I get a chance to use it.

Yes they do it's called an arbor press if you look here it's about $60

There's a couple different ways you can get creative and do this believe it or not even with the a benchtop vice.  Generally takes more than one person to help you hold things as you press it out but anyways here's a link for the arbor press at Harbor freight

Thanks...  Have you used this arbor press to remove a pawl pin?

Would hate to spend $60 and still not be able to get the pin out...

I don't have this exact one but I have something somewhat similar couldn't see why this wouldn't do the job.
