CMonty
While shooting my AR the other day, i noticed that my raptor charging handle would reciprocate while firing, in some instances the gun would not lock back on the last shot. I disassembled the gas block, ensuring proper alignment, and replaced the gas rings on the bolt. Shot a 3 gun match yesterday and noticed it was still moving. Any insights to what the issue could be? Pat Miles
Sounds like you have two different problems. First, is the charging handle locking forward into the upper when you release it after charging the gun? The gun not locking back sometimes sounds like your gas is right on the ragged edge of properly locking back so sometimes it doesn't. Open the gas a bit more so you get off the RAE. Flatland Shooter
Consider fixing the problem with the charging handle first. The extra weight from the moving handle (even though they are quite light) may add enough weight to the system where the carrier does not move back quite enough to lock back. CMonty
No broken nose, just distracting watching my charging handle flying toward my face while trying to focus on targets Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mpom
CM, did you check to see if the latch hooks onto the the little tab on the left rear of upper receiver? Might be a problem with the hook/latch or the spring that tensions it, or the the tab is worn so not enough left to hook onto to. Have had no problems with my Raptor. Did the bolt used to lock back on the last shot and now its not? Any changes other than adding the Raptor? Yeah, your situation would be vary distracting...
