trp
Just got a new jug of hoppes, it's been a few years did they change the recipe? It seems clear now, the old one was yellowish and seemed to work a lot better?? Anybody notice this or is it just me

Biloxi23
I haven't bought any in about 10 years because I got a crap load at a great price. But, the supply is getting low and this thread interest me, and the possibly diminished performance.
Youngeyes
Does it still have that drive the women crazy smell?
Steve RA
I think Hoppes and a lot of other companies removed ammonia from their products. That was one of the changes in Brasso. Which, by the way, doesn't work as well as the old product did.
bountyhunter
Does it still have that drive the women crazy smell? I love the smell of Hoppes. The old stuff I have doesn't have ammonia in it. One of the things they took out of gun cleaner was benzene. I have some old MIL spec bore cleaner that works fantastic and is probably cancer in a can...... Edited November 22, 2014 by bountyhunter
