JulieTheCat Posted November 9, 2014 Share Posted November 9, 2014 In today's issue of "my gun don't run," I'm having issues with an STI Eagle in 40. Loading 40sw 180gr BBI 1.165-1.17oal. The picture says it all. After letting the backwards empty fall out, the next round is not chambering correctly. STI is sending a new extractor (free of charge -great service on a used gun). Any thoughts? Imgur pic Thanks. First thing is to check tension on the extractor. Check the extractor tip to make sure its square and sharp. xrayfk05 Posted November 11, 2014 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Not sure if I understand correctly, but it's normal that a round does not chamber if it is in the chamber. The extractor is designed so the rim of the round slides past the extractor from below, instead you are trying to force the extractor over the rim. I suggested checking the extractor for grime etc. Was told on that thread the extractor was "chamfered" and now this is happening. Is that the case?
