JP CTR-02 with another upper?

This may be an ignorant question but I have to be certain!

I have a JP CTR-02 that I love dearly. I got a good deal on a BCM upper and was thinking of getting it and running it on the JP CTR-02 lower.

Are there any technical issues here? It would be the complete CTR-02 lower mated with a complete BCM upper including a BCM bolt carrier.

Basically, the JP upper would be my "game rifle" and the BCM upper would be a "defense rifle."

Just trying to save a little dough and run one lower for both purposes (and yes, my lower does have a heavier trigger).

You may have issues as the upper and lower for your JP CTR are machined to fit each other. It is not mil spec. I would look to find a blem lower.

Thanks Jay. How about a JP 15 lower? Are those "milspec?"

Yes those are. You can try the upper with the JP lower it "may" fit.

No--don't have a JP 15 lower. Was thinking about getting one.

I run a JP CTR02 upper receiver on a Lancer lower receiver and it fits fine...

I swap my JP-15 lower between a CTR-02 18" upper and a JP-15 16" upper all the time. It's always worked for me.
