leath4m
Up to you really, we are all different. I'm using a 10. But there are plenty of others on here with more experience.

Mike21STI
I settled on a 9# wolf spring when I was running factory 9mm
oak hill
Likewise, I use a 9lb spring. Try 8, 9 and 10 lb springs for yourself to see what you prefer
blind bat
10 or 11lb Wolf. The slide slowed too much when the round hit the feed ramp with ISMI 10lb or 9lb (ISMI tend to measure lighter than specified and Wolf). I didn't like the feel at all and reliability suffered. jimbullet
Mine was sti spartan 9mm, 8 lb spring, PF was somewhere close 118ish and it worked like a charm. No hiccups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

drewbeck
Buy 7-13# and just try them, they will all feel different and shoot different. Your preference will also change as your shooting changes, and the load has a huge impact. If you bounce back and forth for a little while, one will stand out as feeling the best and shooting best because the sights return to an aligned state automatically when that happens buy a couple backups and keep shooting. I think trying them all is also good practice for really watching and paying attention to your sights. If you can tell how a spring actually impacts your sights, you are visually aware and paying attention to them
al503
With a very thin shock buff installed, I start heavy and go down until I see the buff just barely starting to getting hit by the slide. Then I choose between that and the previous spring based on feel.
