b1gcountry
I have been using either lead bullet or plated bullet data for my coated bullet loads. I have never seen published data on any of the popular coated bullets. Does it exist anywhere yet? I am talking about sns, gateway, bayou, etc.
Dr Mitch
I use jacketed data for my coated bullet loads. It's worked fine for about 20,000 rounds so far.
dave33
Use lead load data for coated lead. Thats what it is, just a different form of lube on the outside.

b1gcountry
So my follow up question is what manuals have the most data for lead bullets?
bowenbuilt
The Lyman manual has the most lead bullet loading data. I find the data a little on the conservative side but there is a lot of it.
Steve RA
All you should really be looking for in a manual is a safe starting load, develop what works best for you from that point forward.
rdinga
My experience is that Bayou bullets produce higher velocity than the equivalent uncoated bullet of the same mould design and weight. YMMV
Laughingdog
My experience is that Bayou bullets produce higher velocity than the equivalent uncoated bullet of the same mould design and weight. YMMV I've had the same experience. Without fail, for both 9mm and .45, I've found that coated bullets (Bayou and Blue Bullets) need about 0.2grains less for the same power factor as plated, and jacketed generally needs about 0.2 grains more for the same power factor as plated.
