Precision40
I read somewhere (I think it was in the TJ) that if you shoot Blazers or Winchester WB that you are exempt from the chrono at that Natls? Is that the case or has that rule been changed?"
TDean
If that's the case, I'll just "claim" that I'm shooting Winchester factory ammo at every match I attend. (how will they verify)
Carlos
What about the Blazer .45 cases I reloaded for Limited - 10? Not something I make a habit of doing, nor would I recomend anyone trying it. Loading any aluminum case other than a .45 is foolish. I do it because I can.
AT
I shot the nationals in 03. They required every competitor to chrono regardless of the manufacturer. So the answer is false!
JD45
You reloaded Blazer cases? Did you have to use berdan primers?

Carlos
CCI/Speer Blazer loaded with copperized SWCs? How about the copper colored primers used by Winchester? CCI/Speer does not make Blazer with a SWC. But I do. Regards, D.

Precision40
Sounds like an urban legend to me. That very well could be. But I read it in print somewhere, but I can't remember where. Could it possibly have been in the last IDPA rulebook? The pre-2001 book?
Carlos
"Methinks he's referring to the original question, Doug" Yep, could be. To play it safe, I will edit the post text & make it more polite & more in the spirit of the forum our host wants. Thanks Gorilla! D.

JD45
Nice reloads. Is all Blazer ammo boxer primed? I can't remember what made me think they were berdan primed.
geezer-lock
Any chrono team worth the name will collect ammo from the shooter and not from their bag or box. If you are going to clock one you gotta clock the whole crowd and it doesn’t matter if you “claim” you are shooting factory. There is some interesting reading on the CCI web site about the development and manufacture of the AL case: http://www.cci-ammunition.com/default.asp?menu=1&s1=6&s2=16 geezer
Carlos
JD - .45 ACP blazer has gone through 2 types of aluminum cases; the older cases were berdan & one had to remove the center post to load a boxer primer (only tried that once). The lastest cases have a weird double flash hole - each hole is a semi-circle. THese load OK w/ regular boxer primers. D.
