2o2ll Posted March 26, 2014 Share Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) which double stack 1911 style pistol should i buy for EDC? preferably 38sc, after i recently shot 38sc for the first time and i'm absolutely in love with 2011s and 38sc! Also, which holster should i go with? I honestly want to EDC my open gun because i love it so much but i understand that's a little too over the top for conceal carry lol. v1911 Posted March 26, 2014 Share Posted March 26, 2014 The Total Eclipse is STI's most compact 2011. If you don't have very large hands to begin with, this may be the ticket. I would categorize this as a compact. The next size up would be the VIP. Longer slide and longer grip. This would be the equivalent of a CCO in a 2011 frame. davsco Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 i recently bought a sti tactical lite for periodic carry. either open carry or OWB concealed under a jacket. isn't much bigger than the mid sized glocks (19/23/32). just using a bladetech DOH holster with the offset piece removed.
