  1. I carry my VIP 40 quite a bit. I use Garrett Ind. holsters both IWB and OWB. Doyle
  2. I use Garrett Ind. holsters for my VIP. Doyle
  3. I carry a 1911 of some sorts everyday. I have all sizes and weights so I just carry what I feel like on that day. I sometimes carry a VIP but most times it is a LW Commander. Doyle
  4. I don't care for the feel of bobtail's but I do like CCO's. I carry a Wilson X-Tac compact quite often and really like it. Doyle
  5. I have a VIP 40 and a SA Micro 45 and they are just to different to compare. They are both great guns just different. If I could only have one it would be the VIP hands down.
  6. Garret Ind. made mine. They are not listed but they can make them. Great holsters and great people to do business with and fast service. I have both IWB and OWB and love them. Doyle
  7. I have a compact poly 10mm and while I have other carry guns I think it would carry well. I have it for a woods protection gun but haven't tried carrying it yet. Doyle
  8. Thanks everyone, I talked with Allen and ordered Sprinco's and Wolff XP spring pak's for both guns. The Sprinco for the compact requires a single recoil spring but Wolff has those now so I guess I will see how they work. Thanks again Doyle
  9. I would like the option of full power loads in the compact. It has dual recoil springs and I can't find any options for heavier springs. I can't see how the Sprinco could work with the dual springs. This gun will be used for woods protection only so it will not be shot a lot but I would like to use full power loads if possible. ThanksDoyle
  10. Is anyone using the Sprinco on a poly compact? Do I need it? I will order the Sprinco for the match but don't know if I need it on the compact. Thanks Doyle
  11. OK I found Sprinco site and they also have them for the compact. Has anyone ever used one in a poly compact? I will give them a call tomorrow and ask a few questions before ordering. Still haven't found mags though. Thanks Doyle
  12. I also would like to know the best place to get them. I also can't find mags for my poly 10mm compact. Thanks Doyle
  13. Thanks everyone good info. I will look into the Sprinco . Doyle
  14. Thanks for the info I will look into the Sprinco. I will probably carry the compact while out and about in the woods and would like to use full power loads in it. Sort of carry a lot and shoot a little gun. Thanks again Doyle
  15. I just picked up a couple of 10mm's and need some advice. I got a Elite match and a p compact and from what I have read the Match is under sprung for hot loads. I ordered a XP Wolff spring pack for the match but can't find any info on the compact. I will only be shooting hot loads in these guns and could use some advice on recoil spring weights. 22lb for the match? Any advice on the compact? After buying a Elite Match in 45 I just had to have one in 10 and thought I would try the P compact also. I mostly shoot STI or CZ but I am really warming up to these EAA's. Thanks Doyle
  16. Thanks I thought it was a std Witness but the slide profile had me wondering. Not many EEA's around here to compare. $400 is about what I was thinking. Thanks again Doyle
  17. I have a someone wanting to trade me this gun and I am not sure what model it is. It is a 10mm and I think it is a std. Witness but it looks like it has the square slide like my Elite match. I have not got to see it in person yet so what is it. Thanks Doyle
  18. Thanks Nealio that's the info I needed. I should have it by Thursday and feel like a kid at Christmas. Though I have many guns this is my first EEA. Doyle
  19. Beautiful hand gun. I have a matt stainless on the way so this was a timely thread. Thanks P.S. This will be my first CZ. Doyle
  20. Good morning all. I have a Elite match in 45 on the way and have read about frame cracking that was attributed to weak recoil springs. Should I upgrade the spring and if so what weight? This is my first EEA so I have no experience with them. Ammo will be mostly target ammo with a few defensive rounds so should I change it or not. Thanks Doyle
  21. I don't have a crono yet but I saw no signs of over pressure. I was really hoping that the lighter loads would be better but that is not what I found today. I will get a crono soon so then I will know. Do my 4.2 loads sound to hot? Thanks Jack Doyle
  22. Loaded my first pistol rounds and got to try them range today. I loaded 124fmj PD bullets with Win primers with 3.6,3.8,4.0 and 4.2gr of v320 at 1.145 oal to see what I liked best. My G17 did not like 3.6,3.8 was better,4.0 was very good but 4.2 was best of all. The 4.2 load was very acurate and recoil was soft. I plan to load a couple of hundred of these and also try them in my 17L. As of now I really like this load. Thanks everyone for all the help. This is FUN P.S. I shot my 36 after shooting my 17 with a Vanek trigger and it felt lik a 10 pound pull.LOL Doyle
  23. Thanks everyone for the advise. I have found the problem and it is ME. I was not useing enough force at the end of the upstroke but I think I have that worked out now. I loaded more test rds and everything went well so I now have 12rds each loaded with 124fmj PD bullets at 3.6,3.8,4.0 and 4.2gr of v320 at 1.140 oal. I don't care about PF now just looking for a good range load. Thanks again for the help Doyle
