Modoc
I just saw an interesting one that one of my shooters is doing. He is using an ultrasonic cleaner, but also will tumble using reflective striping beads. Talked to a local striping contractor and got a 5 gal. bucket of contaminated/rejected beads from a job. It seems to do a pretty decent job on brass, but he also uses the beads in his bead blaster cabinet.
raysracer
the 50 pound bag seems reasonable in price. the problem with using rice (in the older part of the post) is that once rice gets wet, it gets gummy. so you have to make sure the brass is completely dry.
