9MM Load data needed for M&P with 3 port comp

Hi all,

Looking for some loads to try out in my S&W M&P.

I'm running a 5" barrel with a carver custom 3 port comp.

I have 115 and 124 grain plated x-treme bullets to use.

Since powder is like unicorn blood right now i'm somewhat limited.

I have the following on hand to try out: (if it's not on the list I can't get it)

Win-231

Green Dot

SR 7625

Unique

4.5 grains of 231 will get you started with 115 grain bullets

7625 is better for working the comp. Wish I could find some.

Many thanks for the help.

I'll have some 7625 in the next week or so. Is there a starting load I should try with that?

I load 6 grains of Winchester 231, 124 MG JHP, Winchester small pistol primers.

I also use an 11# recoil spring.

Thank-you.

Do you have any idea what your velocity is on something like that?

I'm thinking to start at 5.5 grains and work up to 6.1 in .2 grain increments. Does that sound like a good start?

I used to load 4.4-4.5gr of W231 with a 124FMJ for minor. 6gr of W231 sounds like a whole lot of a relatively fast powder.

I'm running 4.8 gr of W231 with a 115gr plated round and it's not working so well with the comp....

Carefull with that 11lb spring ... My old shooting buddy in reno kevin mcintire ... KKM barrel owner... Has me running his barrel and 2port comp with a 12lb spring and he perfers a 13lb min wt.

The glock and MP's can fire out of battery with a lite spring! I am using 231 at a minor PF with a x treme 124gr ONLY cuz I cannt find any major 9 powder up here currently.

My mp 5" core build is waiting on a delta point 2 and major 9 powder to show up. Look for powders in the burn rates from true blue to silhouette.
