Brent D
Received the drop in disconnector (SRTS) for my Shadow Custom. I am not able to remove the pin holding the original disconnector to the hammer. I am using punches, but it won't budge! Any suggestions on removing the pin would be great before I end up ruining something. Should it come out from either side? Thanks for any help. Czhase
The pin will come out in either direction. I use a steel punch, and a steel armorers block to support the hammer when pushing out the pin.
Brent D
Thx so much. I got it out. Just needed to hit it like a man. The tip of the disconnector taken out from the custom shop is polished. wondering if I will need to polish the new disconnector the same.
justaute
Czhase is correct...you have to really hammer the pin, with a proper support.
IDescribe
I drilled a hole in a 2x4 built my own custom bench block and knocked it out with a punch and hammer.
oldfrank
many times on tough pins you have to use a tapered "starter punch" to break a pin loose and get it moving before you use the proper diameter punch to knock it completely out. eerw
Use the starter punch and a big hammer. Some type of bench block is helpful to get the pin moving. Finish up with proper fitting punch.
