copenhagen6
Will the stoeger m3500 carrier latch fit and function in a Benelli M2?
AustinT
Why would you want to do that?
P.E. Kelley
Why would you want to do that? My guess....The M3000 uses a actual hinge rather than flexing the carrier latch to allow shells to be loaded.
Bryan 45
Pat, is it like the Beretta 1301 shell latch? That thing is a work of art.
copenhagen6
Yes. I encountered a stoeger 3500 today and it has a henged carrier latch that is SO easy to load. I want to install one in my benelli.
Jesse Tischauser
Somebody figure this out. I'd love to have a Stoegelli or a Benoeger super duper match gun.
kurtm
Why does it have to be somebody else? Get after it Jesse, be the inovater. Just buy a Stoeger and see if the parts swap. Edited November 18, 2013 by kurtm
CJW
Silly question, but why M3500? I thought that was 3.5" chamber, whereas the M3000 has the same 3" chamber as an M2. ETA: Numrich only lists parts for M2000 and M3500. The parts diagrams in the M3000 owner's manual from Stoeger's website definitely show a carrier latch/latch extractor in the M3500, as opposed to the M2000, style. Having never owned a 3.5" chambered shotgun, I guess I just don't see why the internal parts on the different sized chambers would be the same, though I can certainly see how they might be. I'd definitely be interested in this answer myself. I may also snag an M3000 at some point when I feel enough money burning a hole in my pocket to think about picking up a backup shottie... P.E. Kelley
I am waiting on the return from the NRA the shotgun pictured. I should be able to answer the question then.
sdhunterman
I've never tried an m3500 but the m2000 and the M2 are different. The release tabs are in different locations. Tried to fit a Benelli latch in a Stoeger and it didn't work. YMMV with a 3500 latch. If I remember I will try it tomorrow at work. Differences between m2000 and m2... I don't have an m3000 to check or I would... Edited November 19, 2013 by sdhunterman

sdhunterman
The geometry on the M3500 is longer than that of an M2. The only gun I don't have to check is the M3000.
