Ruger Lite/22-45

Anyone other than me have trouble seating the factory magazine in the Ruger 22/44 platform?

Any fixes that anyone has found?

Have you removed the mag safety yet? If not that is the first step on correcting this issue and improving the trigger.

There are a few bushing mfg out there.

I removed the mag safety and put 1/2" rubber basepads on my mags. They seat fine, except for the "gotta be dead-nuts lined up or they jam" thing so common with those skinny, non tapered mag types.

Is this a common problem with all 22-45 Rugers, or just the 'Lite' version?

I have the Lite and the regular 22/45 with an after market upper on it. Both are a pain the behind to seat the magazine. It is a little better if the slide is locked back, but not much.

Don't have a clue how to remove the mag safety.

Watched a youtube video on the mag safety. I think I understand a bit more now.

I took out the mag safetly and added mag pads to the mags to make them longer so there was more to slam.

In the first pic you can see the difference in length betwen the stock pad and the extended on and in the second pic you can see how much the pad sticks out past the grip.

Just file off a little off the bottom of the gun were the mags base pad fits. Easy fix.

Oh yeah. Change your extractor to KIDD 10/22 Makes the gun much more reliable.
