Xdmeister
I was thinking of building an officer length open gun like the one below. Has anyone tried this and if so, any advice?
HI5-O
I would think with the short barrel, the blast would be extreme to make major...maybe make the comp work better? Or for a steel gun?
EkuJustice
Would be very hard and violent to try and make major with
1911Prof
The Hardy mongoose open gun was based on an officer length STI frame and it is an awesome gun
Kingman
Making major was difficult. I had one briefly. Blast was excess. Getting it to stay running was a bear. I changed spring often. Shorter slide length travel. Mag has to push up more. Was just overall not what I will try again.
mike g35
I am currently running a 4.15" STI MatchMaster.currently as in until my TruBor gets back from Blackdog Gunworks. Buy a full size and save yourself a headache. They flip less, the blast is more manageable, and most importantly...they make major easier.
