  1. I was thinking of building an officer length open gun like the one below. Has anyone tried this and if so, any advice?
  2. Let's seem 'em boys and girls! Put up pictures of the shortest open blasters you got!
  3. daa is the best holster on the market, period.
  4. http://www.powerfactorshooting.com/product_p/sti-mag-combo.htm 170mm mags are illegal in limited so 140 is the way to go
  5. Dawson sells a mag catch which supposedly helps prevent the exact problem you're talking about. As for the trigger, it isn't too light because my 2.25 lb trigger has a substantial reset. My best advice would be to take it to a competent gunsmith for him to look at.
  6. Dawson CRP Edge is the way to go for uspsa. As for idpa it isn't legal but most people will pick one sport or the other. And mags are here: http://www.powerfactorshooting.com/product_p/sti-mag-combo.htm
  7. Have fun getting major power factor with all those holes.
  8. Sti open gun is the only way. There is no discussion.
  9. Yup it should also fit in a cr speed holster cuz the mount doesnt go underneath the frame
  10. 6 or 8 is best i think unless you have eye problems hen a 12 would be nice and bright
  11. I would put in on the right side cuz it will be faster and more natural for a lefty.
  12. Bull barrels are a lot heavier and their comps are heavier as well so i would go with a more efficient cone comp.

    Just in!

Dang!!! 13 months? Thats crazy. Theres no way i could have waited that long even if it was for a sweet piece like that.
  14. My painted grip wouldnt even fit in my daa race master holster cuz the paint was too thick. I just started to chip it off until it fit better. If i was gonna do it over i wouldnt have had it painted.
  15. How much does gary natale usually charge to build an open gun with all supplied parts?
  16. I like the grip texture and the paint makes it look super cool.
  17. Way to go dude!!!! Thats great shooting!!
  18. Your brass should land between 5 and 7 feet away from you. If it is closer, go lighter and if it is farther, go heavier.
  19. Sti stock guns are the best. There are a perfect starting platform atleast and if there is anything wrong, sti will fix it in a jiffy.
  20. I would go with an sjc mount for the optic because mounting the optic on the slide can bang up the scope and i would use the cmore slide ride as i find the sts has a window that is really small and finding the dot is quite difficult.
  21. A lot of people are shooting shorter open guns now a days. They are super quick and a lot lighter than the longer guns. They are a bit more violent though so i would shoot both before buying anything.
  22. Just start reloading. End of story.
  23. There is a reason pretty much everyone in open uses a comp and they arent allowed in any other division. They help
  24. I would pin it to stay consistent with your limited setup. You can use a roll pin so you can still take it out with a pair of pliars.
