billy396
Powder valley I know off topic. But an open shooter favorite I think your post cleaned them out. It's now out of stock. Thanks, anyway. It's been hard to find good powder for a while now.

robman1000
Is hs6 a good 38 super powder?
Guest
Is hs6 a good 38 super powder? It works and makes major in the .38 Super easily with the popular bullets in the 115 grain to 135 grain bullet weights. However, in my opinion there are several other powders that are much better suited to take advantage of the .38 super case capacity in compensated guns. I find HS-6 to be blasty and jarring and my splits aren't especially fast as I don't dot track as well with it. Slower powders work better for me and the guns I load for. Having said that, I do load .38 super on occasion with HS-6 as a scrimp load in Major (I got a bunch of it) or when loading 140-150ish power factor minor loads. I like it as a steel load in my open guns, or for use in uncompensated .38 super guns. Of course, YMMV. Edited July 28, 2013 by Bamboo
Kingman
It's great for 9mm major. Less blasts than longshot.
Guest
Agreed. I used WW540 (same as HS-6) for 9major back before 9major was outlawed in the rule book. It has been the go-to powder for 9major for quite a while, and deservedly so. edit to clarify that WW540 is same as HS-6 for those who may not know.
