  1. Just be patient with the classifieds. I got my open off here and couldn't be happier. It started as a used trubor and now it's what I want. I've tinkered and have found out what I want on the gun and will order an custom sometime in the future related to my current trubor. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
  2. You might try changing your recoil spring to something lighter than stock. I'm running an 11lb spring but my ammo is somewhat hot, although the gun shoots amazingly flat.
  3. You can definitely run a 2011 in idpa. The marauder would be a good place to start, brings it will be the identical platform your used to. And a benefit of getting the 40 would be making major in USPSA.
  4. I guess if your worried enough about your brass go with 9. I shoot super comp and haven't had a problem picking it, at least where I shoot if your not pasting or running score your helping police the shooters brass as a courtesy. I think it's just the name of the game where I'm from though as I know it's easier to find brass in sand than in rocks and grass.
  5. The only big benefit of esp from ssp is shooting a single action gun like a 1911. If your shooting it regularly, you have probably tinkered with your gun in some way, there's a ton of people that have added some kind of trigger kit to guns that I shoot with, and hardly anyone that's running a completely stock gun. I guess the biggest part for me is esp I ever so slightly more competitive for bigger matches.
  6. I don't have mine back yet, but I just went to check it out. Here's a pic my smiths facebook My gunsmith made it work, and did a phenomenal job.
  7. I would say it's subjective to the S.O. And how they wanted to call the stage. To me a port has to be wide enough for someone's body to be exposed on both sides. Those looked more like small holes to me. At least 50% of his upper body was behind cover
  8. If I was going to do it again, I would go with a ck arms or full custom. I just like to tinker and and through that I've found out what I like, and didn't like. For instance I don't like how the thumb/Beaver tail safeties felt, the trigger group, or the mag well that came on my crp. I probably spent more time and money trying stuff to see what was right for me when in fact it might have been cheaper to go with a custom or semi-custom like the ck.
  9. There's really no difference drawing a standard size m&p and the 5". I see simple stuff like this taken way out of proportion. Best thing you can do is choose what you want, and become proficient with it. Personally I shoot a 5" 1911 in 9mm, would I shoot a 4.25? Possibly. I don't see any different outcome in the way I shoot. Like many have said. It's the Indian, not the arrow. Hope this helps.
  10. Must have never heard of Gary Natale. I use to laugh at the folks waiting that long. Never waited more than a couple weeks, ever. Too bad he retired. I believe he came out of retirement again. If I had the money for another build, it would probably be going to him
  11. I got the one that IDPA sold on their website a long while back before they were crazy overpriced. It is a good concealment vest no doubt. I hear great things about the Armadillo Concealment vests, as you can specifically get it fit for your body at the same price the vest from the IDPA. If I was going to get another one, that's the way I would go.

I really don't know if this girl is being serious, but I got a kick out of it. (does contain explicit language....) I also don't know how to upload a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBDQiMOsdLY
  13. Just means the grip that is attached to the gun can be stippled. I've used all kinds of grips for idpa that were very simular to the extreme shooters grips, never been told anything.
  14. As a lefty, this safety has the most positive feel over the sti and ed brown that have been installed on my gun.
  15. Having a Doctor as a father, and 2 siblings that are Mech/Civil engineers... this made me laugh.
  16. 2.25 on my Eagle with EGW sear and Koenig hammer. 1.75 on my open
  17. It's what I'm using. My hands are huge enough to use my thumb. Trigger finger hits the slide release. I'm a lefty
  18. I have, it just feels "slow" I know it isn't though, I guess the 11 lb is just what I like
  19. I shoot an eagle for ESP, the thing is a beast. I haven't really changed much with it, just threw a grip safety on beings I changed the hammer and sear, but other than that it's stock. I guess the only bad part is I have to run my ammo at about 137 PF to keep the slide cycling fast enough with an 11lb spring. I don't know much about the CZ platform and I know you'll probably have to ship it out for work... the 2011's can be looked over by any gunsmith that knows the 1911, and you can come across parts fairly easy. Hope this helps.
  20. Try to find a used trubor, shoot the heck out of it. I really like open, I'm new at it and it's easier to find out what you like, or would want in a gun and go from there. If you can get a deal, the more money you have for ammo
  21. My coffee is brewing as I'm typing this. (and I'm somewhat excited, to be honest) I was just wondering if anyone had some idea on like some kind of soccer cleats that would fall under this rule. I also play in an adult league for kickball and could use them there as too. And yes, this would be a great advantage to have because I'm always falling over when I stop or my feet are running out from under me... anything helps.
  22. Welp... this has changed since the last time I looked at it. What do you guys think is gonna change as far as foot gear goes? 8.8.2 Cleats Cleated shoes may be worn so long as the cleats are made from a rubber compound that you can push your fingernail into. No hard plastic or metal cleats are permitted.
  23. Most the entry money goes to towards a new fancy press, guns, and targets. A lot of stuff is donated. Of the money we had left over last year some of it went to gas money for other clubs (they didn't bank it) bringing lots equipment for our match (which worked out great, because the club I shoot at isn't Huge.. Also one of the best matches I've shot) I do volunteer for the local stuff because I like being involved with the shooting sports. Yes I would say helping set up stages and spending one or two days running people through stages, of course after you shoot the match should wave your fee. It's hard work.
  24. II find this humerus because as someone who has been to many and worked as a sponsor gatherer, I really don't understand why you would think that IDPA is a cash cow. With what money that was leftover from one of the more recent matches I worked, it went to the club I shoot at and trust me, there wasn't very much. I guess if it makes you that mad, just don't participate.
  25. Dang, that's some expensive shooting. I think shooting uspsa might cost me like $8 more than shooting idpa
