broken guns right before a big match

Girlfriends open gun broke today during practice. Got till next Thursday to get a new safety and get it installed so she can shoot the VA MD section match. No backup gun.

I know how it feels. Happened to me in the middle of Space City.

Have a back up TS next time around. I now have 2 extra sets.

Should not be, but I am new to the 1911/2011 platform. Luckily I have a buddy who gunsmiths so he is going to do it for me. I'll take lessons so if it happens again I can do it myself.

Go ahead and get an extra one fitted and kept safe in your range bag. Along with a FP stop, FP, slide stop, and so on. Good luck I would think you will have it repaired in time.
