gmantwo
I long ago jailbroke my 4s and would like to upgrade to an I5. However I work away from home and any wifi(other than occassionally wardriving) and so I tether my 4s to my laptop using MiWi. Does anyone know if this is possible with the I5? I know there is a jailbreak for it, but I specifically want to be sure I can tether(without paying their outrageous fees)
Jon Merricks
My daughters 4s has a hotspot so does my Ipad. Does the 5 not have that?
gmantwo
Might, my concern is do they pay for the priviledge?
wgnoyes
They do pay for it. A regular iphone or cellular iPad has to have that feature enabled by the carrier in the data plan.
DWFAN
If you're on Verizon, and have the new(ish) shared data plan, tethering is free/included.
Kevin G.
I am using MiWi on my jailbroke IPhone 5 without issues. The Bluetooth connection works best.

BillChunn
Yes I beleive AT&T is the same. AT&T charges $5 per month for their "Personal Hotspot" capability on the I5. The data usage is charged against your plan.BC
gmantwo
OK, so it sounds like I can do what I'm doing now with the I5 without extra cost. My bill is already $250/month, I think that's quite enough. I am using MiWi on my jailbroke IPhone 5 without issues. The Bluetooth connection works best. Well, my laptop doesn't have Bluetooth. I could get a dongle

Kevin G.
I'm not sure what happened there. It wouldn't let me put text in with the quotes??? You can use Wifi hotspot or usb tethering with MiWi...
