kevinj308
what post processor are you using? did you try one of the two I suggested?
Open1215
I believe I'm using emc cps
kevinj308
ok, try the other one maybe. If not you may have to edit the code a little to make it work.
kevinj308
Can you make a simple model, try to post the code and see if it works. Like just a block with one cut, a simple g1 pass.
Open1215
I will try that.
kevinj308
I will try that. and if you can past the gcode file here, maybe there's something weird about it. After you post process and transfer to path pilot, paste that file here. Or call Tormach in the morning LOL. They probably know whats up.

SPRSkip
I just wanted to mention that I tried something new. I needed a new Butt Pad for an old Marlin but couldn't find one so I took a picture of the shape of the stock and imported it into SolidWorks, resized it to the correct height and width and drew splines around it to create a tool path. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEhlR9LloGM

That is very cool feature. Congrats!
Open1215
Now I can't get the g code to post at all without getting failure. I'm downloading Linux cnc and I will try again. Thank you all for the help.
kevinj308
Can tormach help on monday? I don't know if you want to get into configuring linuxcnc on a tormach/pathpilot pc. might be a can of worms. lots of subtle differences i'd imagine in the config files. Open1215
Yes if this doesn't work I will live link with them. There's got to be more I'm just missing all together.
amish_rabbi
If you look through the nyc cnc videos you may find something. He's using fusion360 now exclusivly and going to path pilot so there might be something there.
Open1215
I will look into that. I love his videos. This is what I end up with each time. Hopefully I can sit down and email tormach today. Go from there. My son's off for the holiday and sick so I'm pretty busy w him at the moment. Open1215
Ok. I know this isn't tech support, tormach said they don't do f360 in house. That's all I got from them. Does this even look remotely correct as far as set up? I'm on a help fourm for f360 as well because I have no way of emailing fusion and asking them for help. kevinj308
No you're trying to post process to Mach3, you need to change that. EMC or Linux
Hotrod55598
You can't use a tormach specific post processor as they where made for Mach you are now using path pilot. I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kevinj308
^^^^^this PathPilot is Linux/EMC
Open1215
Ahh ok I thought I had to use tormach being it was a tormach mill.
Hotrod55598
That use to be the case however tormach recently changed there control software from Mach mill to path pilot. Requiring new post processors that are compatible with path pilot. Path pilot is very similar to Linux / emc. So they should get you started. Open1215
Ok. I'm still getting failure brackets saying that the tool orientation isn't accepted. If I had to change the z axis to match the machine surface is that throwing everything off?
Hotrod55598
I don't use fusion. If you could post a screen shot I will try to help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
