mikey357 Posted February 8, 2013 Share Posted February 8, 2013 As far as the 686 Pro Series goes, the FIVE-inch Barreled 686 IS "Cut" for Moonclips, the FOUR-inch Barreled Gun--That S&W Calls the "SSR"--Is NOT Cut for 'Clips--Supposedly because the Four-incher is "Aimed" at the IDPA Crowd..."Clear" as MUD, huh? jeremy kemlo Posted February 23, 2013 Share Posted February 23, 2013 I have shot both in competition. I started with a 686 plus 6'' cut for moons and now shoot a 627. I like the 627 better. I like the larger frame of the 627. I also like the balance of the gun better on the 627. That 8th shot comes in handy on polish plate racks and Texas stars.
