Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I've had the same issue. Things I've learned to check: 1. Check the crimp after you load a few rounds, I've had some not crimp correctly. 2. If loading with lead bullets, make sure there's not to much excess lead around the crimp area. 3. Keep your cylinder clean, just a small amount of build up where the round seats in the cylinder will cause this issue. 4. Buy a cylinder and moon check tools if you haven't already, these have helped out a lot.
  2. There's nothing wrong with a 7 shot revo. I compete in Icore with a 686plus mainly due to the cost of a 627.
  3. What about some of the 686 plus shooters out there? : ). Why not try it out and see how it goes. We need any kind of support for our shooting sports.
  4. John's barrel for his 625 was custom made (the one you can see in pics from some of the shooting shows). A model 25-2 barrel will fit right onto your 625 no problem. Here's my GM 625 with a 6" 25-2 barrel, I had Tom Hubbard install.
  5. 158rn Bear Creek, 3.3-3.4gn Titegroup, Fed brass, Fed primer. Before switching to .38lc, this is the load I used for my 686 plus.
  6. It's been over a year since I've loaded for my 625 but if I remember.... Fed small primer brass Fed 100's for primers Titegroup 4.2-4.5 (I do not remember off hand) 230gn Bearcreek rn bullet
  7. You have to use what fits you best. I'm sure alot of us have gone through that. I have med sized hands and it took a few different sets of grips before sticking with a Hogue Big Butt grip. You just have to do what you've been doing. Install a set, go shoot, and it works for you or it does'nt.
  8. For the price you can not go wrong. They do need some breaking in and they are priced where you can do you mods to fit it right to your revolver.
  9. I'd try a local gunsmith. depending on where you are located, there is a few real good revolver smiths here on the forum.
  10. 8 shot..... cause two more rounds is always better.....
  11. How far was the longest shot on a plate you had? Are you looking for someone to machine a barrel for you or if you got a longer barrel, install it?
  12. I run pretty much the same load in my 625. 4.4-4.6gn Solo 1000, 230gn lead round nose, Federal primers.
