D.Hayden
This is really a followup thread to jnshapiro's thread. I've seen the recommendations for the sights... but being really cheap, I'd like to start with a decent cheap red dot sight... if decent is possible. I'm looking for a Oko/Cmore/Docter/Hakko/ATN style.. but cheap.. Anyone else really cheap that's tried one and liked it? It's for a .22 only, and only for Steel Challenge. Thanks, Dave
jhgtyre
Whichever dot sight you pick try to see if you can test it in bright sunlight before you buy. What looks bright inside, even under good lighting, may disappear on a bright day. -ld
jnshapiro
There are a bunch of sale on e-bay. But I don't know what will work well and what won't. I'm going to just get an OKO and not worry about it. Will I see you at the Steel match in October? I hope to have my revolvers back by then! RC1
I use a Propoint on my Marvel and it works perfectly, plenty bright. RC
D.Hayden
Joel: I started looking on Ebay and saw off brands for 50 - $100, they sound like miracle sights. I'm too cheap to put a Oko on, having never shot one. I was just looking for something to see if I wanted to try Steel with the .22, and pick it up again next year, or stay with my regualt Production/L-10 or Limited gear. October, that's the plan (unless there's a great trout hatch going on somewhere) - see you out there - just don't embarass me too much.
D.Hayden
So nobody's tried a cheap C-More style? I really wanted to keep the gun light. The little tube sights seem to be cheap enough to try though...
jnshapiro
I'll try not to! It'll depend on how the new barrels are. I talked to a buddy back east about dot sights. He's very hard on his equipment. Says the OKO sight doesn't really hold up. He's convinced me to spend the extra $50 on a CMore. Billy also convinced me to go with an 8MOA dot. Bigger makes it easier to pick up on the targets. It's only money, right? See ya then! Joel
diehli
Good move on the C-More.
cybrosh
From exp', Oko isn't C-More It's worth the extra bucks! *Did you see the new Hakko 35? smaller than the 24 and most devices. Multi reticles and dots...
