AikiDale
The first one reminds me of one I use often: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Sell him a gun and he can eat steak!
bountyhunter
Who's the first one from? be I can't remember where I read the first one. It was in somebody's tag line in a post and it really struck me as funny. The other one I read at the bottom of somebody's tag line that I always try to bear in mind when posting: "Winning an argument on the internet is like winning a race in the special olympics..... it may make you feel good, but you're still a retard." Or the old one about: "Vegetarian" is an Indian word that translates into "lousy hunter".

bountyhunter
For the other catholics in the group, an ode from Jethro Tull called "Wind Up" on the Aqualung album: When I was young, and they packed me off to school... And taught me how NOT to play the game. I didn't mind, if they groomed me for success, or when they said that I was just a fool. But to my old headmasters, and to anyone who cares: Before I'm through, I'd like to say my prayers. You can excommunicate me, on the way to Sunday school. And have all the bishops harmonize these lines: How do you dare to tell me, that I'm my father's son? That was just an accident of birth. I'd rather look around me, and write a better song. That's the only true measure of my worth. In your pomp and all your glory, you're a poorer man than me. You lick the boots of Death and cower in fear...... I don't believe you. You have the whole damn thing all wrong: He's not the kind of God you have to wind up on Sundays.

Caught me off guard and shot pop out my nose. Thanks a lot! Seems ever so fitting lately considering the IDPA rules debates...not sure which side of that comment I fit on though probably a bit of both
