Nealio
I don't think its going to work. you would probably have to strip it down to bare metal and start there. What gun are you trying to re-finish? Maybe you could trade someone slides...?

I looking at buying comp setup with a black comp and a wonder finish slide for a silver gun; just sounds ugly...
Toolguy
It might be cheaper and easier to make the comp silver...
toosurly
Another question on the subject of wonder finish: what's the best way to touch up a scratch? Is a pen available? If so, where? Thanks in advance.
Nealio
Is the scratch all the way through the finish or just on the surface?
toosurly
Like the title says, has anyone ever refinished a wonder finish part? is it even possible? I gun-koted my wonder finish Witness. It looks good and seems to be holding up well. The gun jammed on its first range trip, though. When I took it apart, I found the coating had rubbed off of the part of the slide that cocks the hammer. If you refinish your Witness, I recommend blasting with fine grit aluminum oxide (coarse grit leaves the surfaces too rough) and masking off the last inch or so of the ridge on the bottom of the slide. toosurly
Is the scratch all the way through the finish or just on the surface? Just on the surface. I haven't polished it out because I don't want to create a shiny spot.
Mlussoro
i took complete gun apart and blasted with 120 grit glass bead, then cerekoted with graphite black, took really well and is holding up awsome! total cost $35 bucks!
