motochris
Hate that so many people think a 5-10% discount off new price is enough for their used item. Optics have been the worst lately for me. Looked at something used the other day, seller wanted $750 for... a NEW one is $799. I offer $700... NOPE, not enough. Forget it, if I'm only saving 5-10% off new.. I'll just buy it BRAND NEW. lee blackman
Lolz, yea there is a guy trying to get $600 for a used stock Glock 26 locally here. I just started laughing at him. He will never get what he asks for it. But you now its a free market, if he wants to try to get $600 for it then he can. After all it is his gun, he can ask 1000 for it. Doesn't mean he is going to get it. I've also seen people undersell their guns because they were just in to much of a hurry or didn't know what they had. The whole point is you shouldn't get distressed about it. Thats the way the free market works. Supply and demand, and thats a good thing. Be glad that you can be a part of it. Just imagine if you lived in socialist britain right now and were trying to buy that same gun...
SteveU
That's the beauty of the free market: If you don't like the price, buy somewhere cheaper. (If you can't get it cheaper maybe that IS what it's worth ) Don't be a hater: Be thankful for a country where you have and can buy and sell private property (insert "My Country 'Tis of Thee here...) Edited to add: yeah, what he said ^^. Good thing I read before posting Edited June 12, 2012 by Steve Umansky

Griz
Even better is the people who think that the stuff they bolted to whatever they are selling raises the value by how much they paid for the extra crap.

That one got me the other day too. Dude had a $20 throw lever on the optic and wanted an extra $20 for it. ANOTHER guy had an AR with a bunch of crap I didn't want, so I made an offer without the extra stuff. His comment was that I could sell the pieces off it for X amount.. which was what the new price was. I told him that HE could sell those pieces... I'm only interested in the gun. These other guys must be some of the ones that sell high (or attempt to anyway)
motochris
About a year ago I made an offer on a gun that was $1000 OBO. I offered $850. He comes back with "I won't take less than $1000." I'm like.. "Then why does your ad say OBO?" His response.. "That means 'Or Better Offer'... you know, $1000 or higher. "
