gunner40sw
Ok I was not expecting this. I figured I would replace the front and rear sight on my M & P Pro 9mm. Did the front and that went fine but I was removing the rear sight and as I did a small spring flew out of the slide from under the rear sight. I did find the spring and also the small round tab that I believe sat on top of the spring. It appears that nothing else flew out. I looked at an exploded view of the gun and it appears there are no other parts I could have lost but if anyone is familiar with this gun and can confirm all this I would appreciate it. Thanks

mcracco
I'll bet this tool would have come in real handy. Included in all the Apex AEK kits which requires rear sight removal to replace striker block.
dcarter
It's really not too difficult to take off the rear sight without losing those parts.....as long as you know they are there in the first place.
gunner40sw
Yep knowing that was there before I took the sight out would have been a help and having to get new little tools is always fun to. Thanks for all the help guys.
98006
A good trick it to put the slide in a plastic bag when removing the rear site. It will keep the disc and spring from being launched into places like under a refig.
gunner40sw
Thats the spring and cap for your Sear disconector. Just those 3 parts under the sight. I think your are all good! What would be the need to have to remove the rear sight to get to the spring and cap for the Sear disconector. I may have to use a little locktite on the allen screw to hold it in. gunner40sw
I know but do I need to ever get back at it cause if i put some red locktite on the rear sight it may not be that easy to get off
horseman
Likely you will not. But if you had disconnecter trouble or wanted to put in Apex's disconnecter for a better trigger pull you would have to take it off. You will just have to heat it up to release the red. A solder gun is a common method for heating things up like set screws.
