sgrc1
I have a G27 I carry for defense and practice I would like to replace the barrel with a fully supported barrel that will: a) Not cause bulge in the brass since I would like to reload for my SVI Limited .40, and Allow me to shoot lead safely. Which barrels do you guys recommend and where should I purchase? Thanks, Sergio
Nik Habicht
Sergio, I've had really good luck with KKM barrels in Glock 17s and a 19. My absolute best barrel though is the Bar-Sto .45 barrel, that they installed in their 6" Glock 21 upper ---- so if you want the ultimate, consider having Bar-Sto fit one. If you need a drop-in, the KKM barrels are great.... Either direct or from Brownells....
sgrc1
Nick, Thanks, how much fitting does the Barsto require?, and can it be done by a local gunsmith? - I live in Guatemala so no chance of sending the top to them direct I would have to fit it locally. We have a good armorer. Sergio

Vince Pinto
For a defense gun, I'd advise you to stick with the stock barrel. And use top quality factory ammo ...............
Nik Habicht
Sergio, A good gunsmith should be able to fit a Bar-Sto. I agree with the others --- stock barrel and factory ammo for carry/defense, aftermarket barrel for practice and games only....
sgrc1
True - it is for defense, but I do like to shoot it once in a while in PD, just to feel safe with it on the street. I might have to stick with the barrel and just discard the brass I use with the gun since I don´t want the bulge sticking up my SVI. Thanks for the help guys. Custom Glock Racing
Some aftermarket barrels offer more case support and tighter chambers than glock like those from Barsto, but there is no such thing as a fully supported barrel for a Glock.
the duck of death
I use reloads and a KKM for competition and carry. I've had one malfunction in over 35K rounds, the spring on the slide stop lever and locked the slide to the rear. No malfunctions that have been related to the KKM barrel. Fired rounds will fit into a case gage without resizing. I also have a SV and have no problems with the KKM brass fitting the Schuemann barrel in the SV. I trust my reloads a lot more than factory ammo to function properly.
