BigDave
I was reading one of the gun rags, and they wrote that Doug K. shot a Rock River Arms built gun. Doesn't Evolution Gun Works build Doug's guns? I know this really doesn't matter much for anything, but I am just curious.
Bill H
As far as I know George at EGW still builds the guns but RR supplies the frames and maybe the slides. I know he said building the Bianchi guns is a major project because of the way the shroud system works. Bill
Chriss Grube
George is still building Doug's guns. He was working on them up until the day before Doug left. I think George said he finished a last minute modification at something like 2 am.
BigDave
Typical for a gun rag (Sorry Duane), but in the article they make it sound as if RR builds Doug's guns. Little stuff like that erks me b/c it shorts the real gunsmith, in this case EGW.
Nik Habicht
And I remember reading a letter to the editor where George took serious exception to being dissed this way. If I remember correctly, he may have promised to pull his advertising from the particular publication....
BigDave
Here is the reply from George I got in an email...Hi Sir would have to look that up we built the steel gun the 3 bianchi guns the 41 for the masters did some work on the pardini, the barrel trick on the 10-22 for the outdoor games I saw where it said that doug won the bianchi with the egw gun I did not see the steel challenge write up. RRA supplies slides and frames. I think it is pretty common knowledge that we build his stuff, I personally have worked on his guns for 15 years. geo
Hi All Someone gave me a link to see what was goin on. thanks Doug's new bianchi gun is RRA slide and frame. The are doing some things different. KooL Stuff though. If you picked up some parts to put a std gun together you would do very well to use there stuff. There are a bunch of little things. Which incidently made it a pain in the butt ( for us as most of our stuff is oversize and needs fitting) the slide stop hole is .198, the firing pins stop opening is .476 fp hole is .066 sear pin hole is .110 . the only gun that is RRA is the bianchi gun. It shoots! but it's the only one so far. (guess we will be makin more soon) geo ><>
kbear38S
I think it was built by one of those gunsmiths who spends all his time on the web. -dashK
