madmax52
A buddy of mine is going to let me borrow his M4 until I get my own to shoot in multigun. He never uses it. I'm just wandering what kind of issues that I might run into transporting a weapon that I don't own if I get pulled over or something.
Matt Cheely
Most states don't require paperwork for face to face rifle sales. While in your possession, for all intents and purposes, you own it.
spanky
If it gets checked, chances are they are only checking to see if it's in NCIC (stolen, etc).

Waterfowl-widowmaker
Regular law enforcement have no way of telling who it is registered to. When we run the serial # it only shows in NCIC/FCIC if it is stolen or not. If you do get stopped just tell them you have it and where it is. We get nervous when we stumble upon them. Joe4d
be advised, many gun insurance policies have third party clauses, meaning if you voluntarily give your gun to a third party and that third party looses or has it stolen, then insurance doesnt pay, So your buddies gun may not be covered if it is stolen out of your car and he isnt around.
