I see that Biloxi and JD are shooting in the Alabama sectional next week. Anyone else have a major coming up?

Yep, first time shooting AL and 3rd big match ever. Next up is MS Classic in May, the a long wait till the LA Gator/Area 4 match the end of Oct.

Hope to make the classifier match in Pearlington, LA and improve my dismal showing in classifiers as of late.

The Alabama Sectional did not go well for me. Brain farts all day . I have a Rifle/Pistol match at the end of the month that will not let me shoot my limited gun so this weekend I am shooting production.

How is everyone else shooting?

I too shot the Alabama Sectional and did poorly.

The reason for my poor showing was lack of focus and not committing to a play for the COF. I was way to focused on getting pictures of my buddies in the squad, of which there we're 7 and not giving myself adequate time to mentally prepare. Won't be doing that again, I'll still take pictures, but only after I have a plan for the stage and committed it to memory.

I am taking a two day class with Manny Bragg this weekend. Looking forward to the class and learning new things. I haven't taken a class since 2006 and am just now getting back into shooting regularly. Hopefully this will push my shooting to the next level.

LOL, Shot a CM99-21 Mini Mart last weekend. Ended up with 7.33 something HF. Rough calculations would put me at 59.98% once the update was run, but the PALM on that stage crapped out losing everyones scores. Next month is all classifiers, Wahoo!

What no paper backup, man that stinks.

The April update will have two classifier matches for me. If they count my 81% on Can You Count, I will make B class. Otherwise I will move up to around 59%. It's one thing to be able to shoot B class, another thing to be able to shoot and move B class on a field stage.

If my Limited gun is ready by this coming weekend, I'm going to shoot it for a bit just to mix things up. Lord knows I need some kind of kick in the pants to get my head in the game and maybe a new gun will help me focus.

I am a new shooter (A76203) and I shot my first event this weekend, a six classifier stage match in Production (CZ75B 9mm). According to my math I should be a solid C and looking to hit B by mid to late summer. My ultimate goal is to hit A no later than after this same match next year. Here is my scorecard from my first six qualifiers, I should be in the system with the mid-April update.

CM 99-11 El Presidente: 40pts / 8.45sec = HF 4.7337 (CmCalc = 46.15%)

CM 99-21 Mini Mart: 56pts / 10.37sec = HF 5.4002 (CmCalc = 48.33%)

CM 03-02 Six Chickens: 46pts / 11.51sec = HF 3.9965 (CmCalc = 66.62%)

CM 99-16 Both Sides Now #2: 54pts / 12.44sec = HF 4.3408 (CmCalc = 48.10%)

CM 99-10 Times Two: 54pts / 11.04sec = HF 4.8913 (CmCalc = 54.20%)

CM 99-46 Close Quarters Standard: 85pts / 18.52sec = HF 4.5896 (CmCalc = 48.18%)

I don't know how USPSA calculates the overall percentage, but according to CmCalc I have five scores in the C and one in the B... So I am guessing I am a "C Shooter" for now and working towards B this summer.

Can I join in on the fun? My number is A75170. I have only shot in 2 matches so far, so I am unranked, and none of the classifiers have been listed on the USPSA website yet, so hoping for an innitial C Ranking. Oh yea I am shooting in Production.

Thanks

Kelly

How many classifiers have you shoot, because you'll need at least 4 unique ones to get an initial classification? An excerpt from the USPSA Rule Book on the subject:

"To receive an initial classification, a member needs to have at least four unduplicated scores in the USPSA classification database prior to the monthly reclassification procedure. If there are more than four scores onfile, the best four scores of the most recent six scores will be used."
