Sarge
As long as they are legal never buy or use anything other than Hi Caps.
BlueOvalBruin
I prefer the highcaps because they seat easier. I've heard from others that the highcaps are more reliable but I've never had a problem with either type. I know one master level production shooter who preferred the 10 rounders, he said they pop out of the gun better when he reloads.
Nik Habicht
I have been using the ten rounders since I started playing the game in 2001. They're legal everywhere, it's easier to be certain I only have ten rounds in each magazine, and they pop out of the gun during reloads.... That said, I don't think you can go wrong with either type, if you're diligent about ensuring ten rounds only...

Pro-Pain
Either will do fine, but the spring play in the high caps makes it just a touch easier to seat the mag than seating a full ten rounder. Besides I KNOW the high caps you have are good quality..... hahaha yes they are, thanks again!
alpha-charlie
As long as they are legal never buy or use anything other than Hi Caps. +1 I've never personally used the 10 rounders, but I've heard more complaints/problems about them than I have the 17 round mags. (Can't recall any problems for the 17 rounders) As for accidentally loading more than 10 rounds into one during a match I simply download each magazine that I used during a stage, make sure the mag is clean, and reinspect each round that gets loaded back into it. prreed10
I started out using 15 round mags in my G35. I got a FTDR in IDPA for having 12 rounds in my first mag at a sanctioned match. Killed my day. I dug through my stuff and pulled out ten 10 rounders and started using them. That's when the FTE's started, always on the first shot, from draw or after a non slide lock reload. The 15lb recoil spring combined with the 130 PF ammo and the upward pressure from a 10 round fully loaded mag would not allow the gun to cycle properly. Sold all of my 10 round mags and went back to the 15's. Not another problem since. Now, I just completely unload every mag used in a stage and diligently count to 10 each time I reload. Harmon
the seventeen rounders will load better, balance better and be more reliable. I am working on a giant slingshot to shoot my remaining 10 round factory magazines over the California border....From Texas. My opinion, 10 round mags are garbage. if that is all you can get however....they are still garbage. seek alternatives Edited February 13, 2011 by Harmon
EkuJustice
If your looking to slingshot your 10 rounders, you can slingshot them to KY. Use them all the time in 9mm and never had a problem with them
Duane Thomas
I use my 10-rounders for dry fire practice. Period.
Rodan
I've never had a problem w/either. 17's clean easier with a GTUL.
