Patrick Sweeney
Since the only suitable pistol I have to shoot ESP is in parts, (an old single stack comp gun getting rebuilt as an ESP) when I do go to shoot IDPA, may I; Use a .45 CDP in ESP, and download it? Or must I find something else, like my Colt Delta (10mm, 40 or .357) as a blaster?
tightloop
Patrick yes, I think you can shoot CDP in the ESP catagory and down load it. You may get some flack from someone, but as long as it is local stuff and not a Regional or State match you should be ok
Scooter
I have to disagree. The rules state the calibers that qualify for ESP, 45 is not one of them. ENHANCED SERVICE PISTOL DIVISION Handguns permitted for ENHANCED SERVICE PISTOL division must be Single Action or selective SA/DA and be of 9mm (9x19), (9x21), (9x23), .38 Super, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, .41 AE, 10mm Norma, .400 Cor-Bon and meet the following criteria:
tightloop
Scooter is correct, I did not look at the LGB.
Bill Schwab
I wanted to shoot my 45, with 170PF loads, in ESP just to punch the master card, no can do....
Patrick Sweeney
OK, so I drop the .400 Cor-bon barrel into the Gunsite ATP, install the 12 lb spring, and load some wimpy loads with 135's @ 1000 fps, and then make sure it a) functions, hits to the sights, C) groups decently, d) Give up shooting IDPA as too much trouble. Pair a Para
Patrick, Why not just shoot CDP? I'm sure you must have a 1911 .45 lying around and some 8 rd. mags.
Patrick Sweeney
To qualify/classify in all four Divisions.
the duck of death
You can change barrels but the caliber must remain the same.
Thomas Moore
pat, you make enough money, go buy more guns. glocks will fit the esp catogory.
Patrick Sweeney
"go buy more guns" are you crazy? At last count, I have (mumble, mumble) 17 1911 pistols in the shop, not counting the loaners. A passle of european military .32s and .380s, (I collected them for a while) another safe of nothing but revovlvers. 30 running feet of rifle rack with rifles and shotguns in it. Ammo for it all, loading equipment, etc. I'm worried about the concrete slab and footings of the building. And you say just buy more guns. Where would I store them? (All volunteers, I appreciate the sacrifice you're willing to go to, but no thanks.)
Thomas Moore
i'm sure you have something in that stock pile for esp. i hope to see you in the idpa circut this year. it's not like ipsc but it's good practice, any trigger time is good trigger time. Patrick Sweeney
Hey, maybe I can shoot IDPA with a: Colt model M in .380, or a CZ-27 in .32 ACP? I't got, like a dozen of those. They've got to be real guns, they're marked by the militarys that used to owen them.

Thomas Moore
i had to reshoot a stage because a target wasn't scored causing me to tank the stage i was on and then blowing the reshoot. i was 1 point away from second and 20 from first, maybe i wouldn't have been propelled to first but definately second. Ted Murphy
What does the USPSA rules call for ? I know at the last few IDPA nats we've given a clean tgt when doubts about scoring arose.
