  1. Great match as usual,Congrats to my son-in law Matt for the win in stock auto and my daughter RLT for 2nd lady in stock auto ,you guy's shot well ! They talked me into going back with them,I had not been there since 08,glad I did, since my 5-bi-pass in Aug of last yr. I didn't know how it would work out . I did not shoot up to my standards, but I got thru with no problems, just need to get my mojo back. Thanks to all that helped with the match.
  2. Picked up a new Trojan in 9mm from SC last week, ran flawless with the mag that come's with the gun,[250rds]received the 5 Tripp mags I ordered and I ran another 500 rds thru them, the same results, flawless. Color me a happy camper !!
  3. Good luck Stuart, best wishes to you
  4. They are Burris 3x12 B-Plex LER , I use the 2x8 Leupold Vari-X-3 with a 2.5x or 3x Davis optic booster , I'm going to try a rifle scope in the near future. We just don't have many choices in the Pistol scope line . Dale

I will invite you to Ohio anytime to my range at home or to our monthly matches every 4th Sun. at Rayner's and we will shoot plate's in any weather condition's that happen to occur,I don't shoot benchrest for groups everyday but I do shoot steel and I will let you have a crack at my crow targets , others can relate, that have had the pleasure .Chris, that made my friends mounts is in Alabama and we might just come for a visit ? Thanks, Dale
  8. We have been doing this for about a year now. Those guns Flex posted are a friend of mine ,one is in 260 Remington ,the other is in 7-08 , I have a Savage Striker in 260 rem that I put together myself and a XP-100 in 260 Rem custom the a gunsmith friend of mine put together for me.I have done the math and the leg work and they will do the job to 1200 and then some .If you do the work the 260 in 14'' / 15'' bbl's will get 2500/2600fps and shoot well .I use Lapua 139's,and have used Sierra 142's and they work well . My Striker will do .5'' at 300 yd's and so will the XP . I'm going to group these new guns at 600yd and 800yds this week . I have no problem's hitting 15'' circle's that we shoot in our match's from 200 to 900 yds . In the last match last year in Oct, I went 15 out of 18 the misses were one at 500 and two at 900 ,windage problem's . I'm having a ball learning new things at 60 yrs old ! Maybe Kyle will post my two rear grip gun's when he has a chance . COME ON IN AND GET YOUR FEET WET,its fun , it make's you giggle like a school girl when you hit something and 3 seconds or so later your hear the CLANG or clang as it my be !!!! Dale

  14. Buy all the loading manuals you can afford, lots of good reading inside !!
  15. Like Kyle said,I have fooled around with a Open G-20 for awhile.I had my son-in-law weld 2 Glock-20 mags together to make a 170mm big stick = 23/24 +1 ,I used a Gram's 13 coil spring and a modified follower .Works flawless.
  16. amen to finding one thats any good .
  17. 2 out of my last 3 J-Points have had windage adjustment problems. One was new and one had 5-6 thou on it and had been sent back and repaired once.I have one more new one on the way,if there is a problem with it ,I'm done with them.

    compensators

I have the LW model from Jaeger. It has about 2000rds thru it now and works as good as the rest .According to people that watch me shoot, it is as flat as most comps for Major 9.I run a G-17 with 8/8.2 of HS-6 and a 124 = 169-171pf with a 15lb for maj. and 13lb for minor[140/150pf],a JP on a modified Carver mt. to keep if mounted foward of the ejection port ,the only way it will run .I tried a slide mounted JP,It didn't last long, would like to use a C-More but its to long, as I will not go The SJC route because of the cost. This is my 3rd or 4th Open Glock, over the last 4 or 5 yrs, and they all have the ejection port problem,I've done all the tricks, tighten the slide to frame, modified the ejector&extractor, rhea ejector[same results] still waiting for the smaller C-More model they previewed at the shot show ? I use two Taylorfreelance +10'S,unmodified = 28+1 .What we need is a lens size between the C-More and the rest and a 6 or 8 moa dot on these other models[burris fastfire,Ultra-dot LT] the LT has the larger lens but only a 4moa dot .
  20. Almost any Glock 17rd mag, before the newest Generation, you add a Taylorfreelance +10 pad,do a little work to the follower or add a Novak +1 follower and correct spring,prest-o-change-o you have 28+1 or 29+1 if your lucky. If you want a 30rd mag try a Non-Drop-Free mag and do the same thing . I've been doing this before it became popular, ask Kyle .
  21. I run Arrendondo pads and Gramm's springs ,Bevins springs are the largest that will fit in a 17/22 size mag, which is alittle larger than anybody else's .The main problem is that most springs on the market are made to fit all Glock mags and as everyone knows the 20 & 21 mags are larger It would be nice to have a spring made to fit the inter-dimension of a G-20 mag .I ran into the spring mess when My son-in-law welded two mags together,[yes it can be done and works flawless] for a 170 big stick ,had problems with 13 coil springs and modified followers, nose dives with some bullet nose shapes, loading longer in this setup works better .I ended up with a 24+1 , Sweet !! Dale
  22. As Mr Coltgov says ,SWC is a problem in the large frame Glocks .I have used 2-G-20's in Limited and Open for the last 2/3 yrs and have had no problems with the Limited gun,2yrs two malfunctions an upside down primer and a high primer [ my fault ] I shoot 4 to 5 matchs a month ,8 months a yr. I load most all ammo that I shoot to 1.135/1.145 no problems !! I have shot all loaded lengths you can think of in,10mm custom and factory bbls,40 conversion bbl and 40's in factory 10mm bbls not many problems of any kind . The Glock-20 is a highly underated choice !!!! Dale
