tackdr1ver
I am wanting to change out my factory sights for something different. Ultimately what I would like it something that will shoot closer to point of aim as right now I have to hold fairly low for headshots. Also I would love to have a thinner diameter front blade and rear notch. Plain rear and fiber up front. Adjustable or fixed rear is ok. Serrated/non serrated is ok. What do you guys suggest? Jay870
On my 9L I use a Dawson "Wide Notch" fixed rear (.130 I think) that is .180, paired with a Dawson .210 x .100 Fiber optic front. That pretty much shoots POA at 25 yards, and about 2" below POA at 7 yards.
gng4life
Yeah, I use the Dawsons for the front and rear but I use the FO rear also. I like the visual aspect for fast shots when you just recognize the color instead of the blade/notch. Either way, the Dawsons are the way to go... G-ManBart
What do you guys suggest? Most of these sorts of questions have already been covered, so rather than start a whole new thread, see if one already exists. Try a quick search on "sights" and you'll get a lot of returns in this section. I quickly found these: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=106950&view=findpost&p=1216297 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104481&view=findpost&p=1188609 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101341&view=findpost&p=1155134 Edit: I have a Warren Tactical rear and Dawson FO front on my Pro. tackdr1ver
Thanks yall. Is it generally better to have a rear notch similar in size to the front? Or is a little extra daylight more desirable? Edited September 30, 2010 by tackdr1ver

G-ManBart
Thanks yall. Is it generally better to have a rear notch similar in size to the front? Or is a little extra daylight more desirable? For precision, less daylight, for speed, more daylight. USPSA/IDPA shooters tend to go with the more daylight option (all my front sights are either .090" or .100" wide. RWF
dawson but if you putting them on a pro or L stay with 265 NOT 305. it looks like the empire state building.
Rckymtnshooter
Dawson precision adjustable with a .265 front. With the .265 front I still had good adjustment range left after sighting in with a 124gr. MG CMJ.
The_Vigilante
I just purchased Dawson Adjustables for my M&P Pro 9mm. The rears were .265 The website recommended .265 for the front sight and that's what I ordered. However, this morning I received a call from Daniel of Dawson Precision who recommended the .305 front sight because the Pro had a longer slide. Any comments regarding his recommendation? vetts1911
I am using the Burwell rear sight with the SSS front sight. Works well for every thing from IDPA and USPSA. The last match we had was close up and spray to some 25 yard shots.
