Maksim
Picked up a case of MG 124gr JHP. Have W231 that I typically used, however also have a lb of WSF that I hear is softer, cleaner shooting. Anyone have any loads or first hand experience with it? Also, looking for some 147gr loads as well. Hoping to load a few and shoot them tomorrow. Hodgdon manual states 124 GR. FMJ Winchester WSF 1.169" Starting Load 4.7 1015 fps 27,700 PSI Max load 5.3 1115 32,700 PSI
kamann
I've been using 4.8gr WSF in my G34 for a PF of about 132.00. 1.145 OAL. Nice soft load. I was using 4.3 Win. 231 before that and the 231 was snappier. I use the same bullets as well. Edited September 28, 2010 by kamann
Hi-Power Jack
For MG 147 gr bullets, I use 3.8 gr WW231 for 900 fps and pf132 - but this is 15 year old powder - if you're using fresh powder, you might want to start your search at 3.6 grains W231. I load to 1.13" OAL, and this is in a Browning Hi-Power, WW cases and primers.
