Speed Star - Speed Shoot - 2 Metric, 2 PP, 2 USP, 7 Plates

Not really anything special but I needed a speed shoot and wanted to make use of our club's new star.

I'm toying with the idea of making one (or both) of the PP start the star spinning but we will have to evaluate that at setup.

Anyway.

Facing downrange with handgun loaded and holstered.

Upon signal, engage T1 & T2, PP1 & PP2 and USP1 & USP2, perform a mandatory reload then engage P1-P7

This might be your plan already & I could be wrong, but it seems like you might have to make T1 & T2 single shots or you are making 10 shots before the mandatory reload.

1.2.2.3 "Speed Shoot"-Courses of fire consisting of one continuous

string of fire not exceeding 16 rounds shot on one or more arrays

of multiple targets from a single location or view. No more than

8 rounds may be required without a mandatory reload and no

more than one mandatory reload may be required in the course

of fire. Stage may be scored either Comstock or Virginia Count.

See Rule 9.2.3.2.....

Thanks for putting these up.

2 per paper, 2 PP & 2 USP = 8 shots

7 plates = 7 shots (obviously)

15 rounds total, reload after the first 8.

I see what you're thinking though, the two plates are shot with the star, not the poppers and paper.

Nice design. My only 2 cents would be to move the 2 plates to each side of the Texas star so the new shooters will engage the "group" in the middle. We have a narrow bay and I'll be borrowing this stage next spring.

This weekend is the last outdoor match before the cold chases us inside to the heated range.... Stages are already designed for setup on Saturday.

I like the layout but I would do away with the mandatory reload. Each division is separate to itself so that in that they are all equal within theirselves. A revolver shooter would have to make at least two reloads and maybe more. SS, limited 10 and production will have to make at least 1 reload and limited and open no reloads but this is all okay because they are only competing against other shooters in their division. Either that or separate it into three arrays and have a mandatory reload between each array. 5 shots per bank of targets. If it is legal to have more than one mandatory reload per stage. Again just my 2 cents and I may see if the range I shoot at would like to use it because it would be fun to shoot.:D
