Steven Cline
Can anybody compare it to a Kimber Rimfire Target? My buddy has one of those and it is pretty cool. Also has anyone touched up the trigger? 8 lb. is unacceptable to me. I can't compare it, but I own the Kimber .22 conversion. I bought it used from a local gun shop and quickly discovered why the person was unloading it- the slide was dragging on the barrel hood. Apparently the previous owner was adverse to using a file and/or dremmel. A few minutes later the slide was gliding smoothly. It has an adjustable rear sight and tall front sight and appears to be the same target sights as came on my Kimber Super Match II. My son and I shoot it a lot. I use it to train new shooters- it's a dream: low recoil, light clean trigger, and sharp target sights. As was observed above. We just swap out the upper and get to practice with the same trigger and mag well on the Super Match II's lower. However, with my wife's Kimber Custom II we must remove the after-market mag well. For some reason it prevents the mag from going far enough in so as to prevent feeding. This is not so with real 1911 .45 mags. :dunno: This is not such a big deal- one screw, top end swith and were rocking with the .22. Hope this helps. Chris iliff
I'm at 800 rounds with no cleaning. Steel Challenge match tomorrow. Should be fun.
D roc
the frames steel, basic 1911 dust cover, not thick like the sti's, but it's a 22, how much stress is a c-more going to put on it compared to a super. it also has a threaded barrel for a fake can, I wishing someone would make a comp for it. I did a trigger job on one of mine, although the parts are not true 1911 specs, it close enough, I used a powers number 1 jig, and one of the smaller pins in the adapter fit the sear. I have a comp on my gsg. I used the tactical solutions 2011 .22 comp. Works great. If you go to YouTube I was messing aroun with my iPad and took a video of my gsg. Search for gsg 1911 .22 iPad or my user name wwDRocwwif you want to look at the comp. Keep in mind I wasn't trying to review the gun. I was just testing out the iPad video quality. jimmcc
Anybody hear about a voluntary recall? I heard there was an issue with the mag release. I shot one 2 months ago and thought it was an awesome piece although.

D Roc's video: Thanks I am liking the gsg 1911. I will probably buy a few more so friends and other ppl can enjoy them at the range. For the price I will probably buy 2 more of the normal ones and one with an accessory rail. ****Side note**** yea the iPad did do an alright job. I was in the market for another laptop but instead the iPad is working great for everything so I used the laptop money for a glock 35 to start competing with. ParaGunner
Has anyone tried any mother mags in the GSG 1911? Like the kimber 22lr mags or colt ace 22 LR mag. Or if anyone know a cheap source for the factory mags please let me know.
