doc540
I'm already getting pumped about another qualifier on the horizon. As it turned out, the second match I'd ever shot in my life was actually an IDPA qualifier. And my accuracy (due to rushing) was below what I could've shot if I'd just slowed down and seen the sight. This time the sight and I have become bosom buddies. AND I have a real gun to shoot this time with a front sight like a road flare.
Del
Good Luck. I hope you shoot better than you expect
wide45
Expectations are a bitch. Lose them, and just go shoot. Let it happen.

calishootr
only shoot as fast as you can see the sights lift off the target and come back onto it....sounds weird, butthe best matches i have had were the one's that i didnt have any expectations going in....makes the end that much more memorable

BradGannaway
I tell myself before every stage, "slack, site picture, squeeze/squeeze, attack the next target, ALL AT MY PACE". Even though I say it real fast, I always slow down when I say, "all at MY pace". Shooting at my pace gave me 97 A's, 10 C's, 1 D, and 1 M at the last match. It gave me 58% in production division. It's not great, but it's only my third match. BG
doc540
Amazing match this morning. I saw shame, anger, guilt, and pride much more clearly than I saw the front sight. The Commander ran like a top, and I shot it well, but I fumbled some stage processes. Sometimes I got so engaged in the shot, I forgot whatever was supposed to happen next. "focus fault" A match to remember...learned a lot. Funny how expectations manifest themselves. Edited April 3, 2010 by doc540
