  1. WOW THAT Cogan site has some nice work on it.
  2. I just bought one too and am about to flog it. The polymer seems more dense than my p32. My trigger is pretty smooth for what it is. Have you shot yours yet? Any probs? Mike
  3. Thanks guys. i'll post my results when I load a box up. There in the polisher right now.
  4. I just came into some old Herters brand 9x19 brass. It says on the packaging made in finland (Lapua?) Anyone got the dope on this stuff? Gunbroker pic not mine. Thanks Mike
  5. Cookies and Copper Plating elves are freakin amasing!
  6. Ever since the component shortage started I've been looking at how various things are made. Anyone have info on how large volume manufactures plate their bullets? Any help would be great. Thanks Mike
  7. What are the bullet weights?
  8. Was any of it WCC brass? lol Similar thing happened to me..
  9. I shot it in a local steel match, and it crazy sluggish in my STI, I just couldn't shoot well with it. I switched back to my 147gr load and started dropping plates again. It is silly soft, This is a great load for Kids or new shooters. Light recoil spring is a must for consistant reliability. Carlos, that 147 load is light, but this is 98pf of pure lazyness. Next up is to put some rounds through my buddys suppressor, subsonic 124s should be kinda cool. Mike
  10. NuFinish car wax huh, any problems at all? I've tried the big expensive machine we have a school TSJC gunsmithing, Semi impressed. I would think the solution you run has everything to do with it and the sonic vibes just JIGGLE the gunk away. I tryed both primer in primer out and the pockets were not clean. If you can get these results with vinegar then the whole small machine may be worth it. For rifle or low volume pistol. I may just buy one and try it. Thanks for posting this I forgot that article. Mike

    9mm para.

Ive shot 158s lead with 3n38 worked quite well, with a 147 jacketed you can get 1200fps (no joke and within cip/saami limits) But Im thinking thats not what you want, .357 lead and plated is great in cut or broach rifled barrels, polygonal can be risky. (these are my observations in my guns your guns may not like to play nice) Slugging your bore is easy and will tell you what your dealing with Bore Slugging Beartooth slugs , Ive messed with alot of wacky 9mm combos, The heavy 158 160s, will usually bulge the case where the internal wall taper starts, it will feed and function just check it with a chamber gauge. Also OAL is huge and very important with heavy bullets and fast powder (clays) 1.142 area is usually an good place to start. (this number is for round nose, 158 LSWCs can vary on the ogive and meplat area, so how much room it takes up inside the case needs to be determined) loading long is your friend Saami oal for 9x19 is 1.169 In the end, with 3n38 you can get major or minor with .355 147s and they shoot great, very clean.
  12. It looks quite obvious that the profit margin on this one would take for ever to recoup, with all of the associated costs. I am going to do more research. But the time to get a working, safe, reliable product out the door in the hands of a reloader, all of this frenzy may be over. I have heard the big boys are trying to procure overseas product to ease the current problems. Apiarian, Great idea the low volume precision thing may have a very good market. Benchrest, bullseye, etc. Thanks to all who answered the show ain't over yet , I like the idea of telling my my friends Im gonna go formulate some high velocity primary explosives legally today. This whole thing may be astonishingly expensive and NOT AT ALL FEASIBLE, but I feel it is a very valid question, and it's just plain not right , NOT to be able to go down to your local sporting goods store and buy a box of primers for $2, YA Know. Mike
  13. We'll I was just reading some of my loading manuals yesterday when I stumbled upon this funny loading in my lee manual. 8.8gr IMR4227 under either a 115 or 124gr bullet at 1.100 and 1.135 for a stated 820fps(115) and 790fps(124) 13,000 CUP we'll a 38 special load for my ninexnineteen. I HAD TO TRY IT. threw some 124 plated bullets on it and loaded 50 rnds. Out of this world soft and it cycled my 9mm Trojan and Glock 34 and Sig 226 ,stock springs and all :surprise: very rapid double taps worked well too. How weird 13,000 psi and it functions. I just thought Id throw this out there for any who are interested in weird stuff like this. What a great load for practicing the basics, especially sight picture, grip and trigger control. It was wild watching the slide move. Here ya go Mike
  14. Due to the absolute insanity of the reloading market. I have been pondering the idea of procuring a primer manufacturing machine. (if that indeed is what you call it) Ive looked into brass processing machines. But interested to know was is involved with The manufacture of primers. FFL type licence machine cost material cost how much, who, what, and how? I know why. Thanks alot Mike
  15. I just wanna see if it can be done with some regularity for an ABSOLUTE MOUSEFART 9mm minor load. I have heard stories of how soft these shoot in 9, I think it may have a place for new guys like my self. Plus I love weird stuff like this. Mike
  16. Is that bullet US made? Im thinking probably not seeing from where your from. Im interested none the less. Thanks Mike
  17. Thanks guys! It seems clear Im gonna have to go long. I gotta get a 9mm throater now and go to work. I think the end result would end up looking like a 9mm MAJOR chamber but shooting heavy pills. This should be fun, I just wanna see how far and worth wild for other shooters this can be. Thanks Mike
  18. Thanks guys! I saw my buddy with Quickload and we crunched some numbers. It looks like 3.0 at 1.180 will yield only 18000psi but around 730ish fps 3.4gr gives more than 50% case fill and bumps up pressure to the low 20s and around 780fps all from a 5in barrel, This is what the computer says, And im gonna chrono it. I was worried about a spike in the pressure due to powder burn rate, and less of it in a larger volume. Man all this makes me wanna go back to gunsmithing school lol.
  19. Ive been thinking of using a gas check type bullet (no check) as a pseudo boat tail giving a bit more room for seating and powder. or I did find a propper lead boat tail.
  20. Im trying to work up a nice minor load with clays 3.ish clays 180 lead , and after experiencing some weird( or typical) oal problems with my gun. (Tanfo Limited 10mm mags) I would like to load long 1.180 or longer. Now will Clays start acting weird with the increase in case volume at that charge 3.0 and a 180? thanks Mike
  21. EAA UPPERS So how much fitting is required. Ive done 5 or 6 1911s, But the rails are in the wrong place on these guns. also whats the deal with the wonder finish? Chrome? Will it peel if I stone or file on it? I would like a .22 standard AND A 9MIL LONGSLIDE. on my Limited Any help appreciated.
  22. So I was shooting my new Limited today and a live round came out with the empty. I guess this can happen when shooting standard length .40 in 10mm mags. The round must of snuck up to the lips and jumped for it life HMM guess it's time to go long.
