  1. Well like I said above Ive shot 3.4 already Its brisk. Im gonna play with a longer oal Ill post my results with chrono data if anyone is interested. Thanks Mike.
  2. lol Hodgdon SAYS! 180 GR. HDY XTP Hodgdon Clays .400" 1.125" 3.0 727 26,000 PSI 3.5 847 34,300 PSI Not sure how to translate that into lead.
  3. Well I shot the load in my new Tanfo Limited WIn brass 180 lead win primer sp 3.4 CLAYS 1.125 oal Man It was pretty powerfull, smacked steel with some authority. I have not chrono ed at this time but I feel It could definatly come down some. I would like to load long 1.16 -1.19ish ( I heard I could go to 1.225) supposedly I have the room to do it in. Whats gonna happen with CLAYS if I seat the bullet out farther with the same load? Thanks Mike
  4. I shot 20 or so in my Tanfoglio limited, no chrono. wow what you guys say has me thinking. what a light powder none the less. here is where I found the data. http://www.tanfo11.com/
  5. JUst figured that out, before I read this. who on earth would use that feature. Thanks Mike
  6. Im not viewing the forum like I used to be able to. instead of being able to scroll down to view all the posts, They are all grouped at the bottom and I have to click on each one to view. how do I fix it? Thanks Mike
  7. You know Im wondering now If loading long 9mm would easy the headspace and bullet jump issue. It seems to me 9x19 in a 9x23 chamber just headspaces off the etractor and has a ton of freebore.
  8. Thats good news. And thankyou glad to be here
  9. Never mind I just bought 1 online for $1000 Too late now.
  10. Im just looking for the best price. And I see Hennings is in Longmont. Do you stock firearms or just goodies? Thanks I am excited to buy one of these cool blasters! Mike
  11. I was thinking something similar. 160s may be a smarter idea. But I just wanna do 180s Ill get some solo, I wonder if 3n38 or n350 would work? And thanks Ill be careful , this is just one of those things I gotta know. Mike
  12. Ive read the old heavy 9 threads. does anyone have and hard data like What mould? Or manufacturer what dia? What oal? what powder? Thanks MIke
  13. Any one ever load .356 .357 lead 180s in 9x23 or 9sc? I saw an old thread on heavy9s just wondering if anyone played with em in 9x23 Thanks MIke
  14. This is just a hypothetical question, If I rechambered my STI trojan ramped barrel to 9x23 what type of accuracy can one expect from 9x19 being fired in said chamber. would this pretty much be a .38 in a .357 chamber type scenario. The only reason Im asking is I read you could use 9x19 9x21 9x23 and 38sc all in the same chamber. Thanks Mike PS how about 9 major loads?
  15. thank you sir. I gotta slug this barrel to see what it is. all the bullets or may I say the ones Ive measured do read .356ish. Unique is a powder I got plenty of. I just love how clean vv runs. I got a ton of 3n38 I was using for pins (147 xtp 175 pf) hopefully that same fun can work with lead (minor)? but I know even slower ish. tightgroup? pressure clays? that would be some pressure no lol. solo 2000 has sounded great, just to find it here in Denver at this time lol. I got the vit #1 manual and it states 5.3 max n350 at 36000 psi 1.142, lead but I dont need 1144fps I need that quick pressure spike but no KB. unique it is 4 the moment.. thanks
  16. Got an STI Trojan 9, and Im running Silver State 147s. They say there hardcast. What the BH number is ??? I dunno. I do know they like to leave a good deposit right after the chamber. Starline brass, win primers, 4.7 n350 ,1.142 oal Should I push em faster? Thanks MIke
  17. Understood , and thankyou very much for your info. Its time for me now to start making some calls to different gunsmiths, I'll try Mr. Hardy 1st any other ideas. Once again Thankyou for your help. Mike
  18. Thanks for your info, so the same thing would be going on for long loaded .40? Im a gunsmithing student and just want to know whats going on in the chamber. Thanks alot! MIKE
  19. Since a lot of folks load 9 Major long (to reduce pressures and improve feeding in 2011 pattern guns), the gunsmith may need to follow the 9x19 reamer with a throater to give a little more freebore. The standard reamer will throat the barrel enough that loads with an OAL of 1.160" and shorter will not have the bullet touch the rifling when chambered. In my case, I load 9 Major to an OAL of 1.195". Bill So your saying run a .355 throater .030 ish longer than saami headspace (or what ever spec your 9mm reamer is) for more freebore and no bullets jammed into the lands. What pressures are you running about with longer ammo 40,000psi? Thanks MIke.
  20. What chamber mods are needed for long loaded 9mm major. reamer suggestions? Thanks Mike
  21. Yep gotta get a reamer for my 9mm 1911 barrel. Im no stranger to a lathe or rebarreling firearms. That is very awesome news about your carbine and blowback none the less.
  22. Case web expansion is a bit of a problem. But a full length resize should cure that. And flat primers occured also but there still in the pocket. Im obsessed with my 9X25 Dillon right now but more MONSTER 9mm 147 will continue. Mike
  23. I was just reading one of my cartridge books and this little puppy has an OGEE shoulder like a Weatherby cartridge. ANd my headspace was CRAZY off Like .030 off, I guess we could just call it aggressive fireforming. Im gonna get the specs for a reamer from Pacific tool or at least advice. I wanna be safe and go as fast as possible ( Autobauhn Fast not F1 fast)
