  1. Are you talking about the STI Steel Master pistol?
  2. Turkey burgers aren't really hamburgers now r they!

  3. BAM!!!!!!!! http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1103/Product/OXYNATE_reg__NO__84___HOT_CHEMICAL_BLUING_COMPOUND We used it at TSJC but you gotta have tanks set up. BUT YOU CAN BLUE STAINLESS!! With this. Hope this helps
  4. Ive was loading some 357 yesterday and looked at the two 4 lb jugs of 3n38 that haven't been used in a little while. And I thought about using it for 158s and 180s. Its burnrate seems to be right for a shorter barrel my 147 9mm loads are awesome. Im just wondering if a good bullet weight/ burnrate combo exists for 3n38 and .357? THANKS Mike
  5. Damn Im trying to figure out how he did that 45, the end gap and all with the shortened cylinder. Mabye its bored with a barrel liner inside, Like the new smiths. Kinda like a Dan wesson. Hmm I wonder.
  6. This 45 is cool though
  7. Thanks Guys! Toolguy, you know thats what I was thinking, don't know why they would heat treat huge batches of forgings differently, and in having some inherently weaker what if they got mixed up Stranger things have happened. I'll just build the puppy and see what happens, Im not trying to shoot hellfire out of the thing, but it would be nice to have a K frame that shoots 357 sometimes. Thanks again Guys Mike
  8. I wonder where I should look or who to ask?
  9. Are the 60's + k frame pistol frames heat treated all the same or are there differences between the .38 and .357 guns? I have a project I am building a 10 frame with a stainless .357 cylinder and barrel. I know about the weak spots of this gun I just need to know if this frame can take the punishment of the .357 cartridge. Thanks Mike
  10. You know thats what I was thinking about the adjustable sights. The front is .170 tall and the rear is .230 I must be flinching and anticipating The load is 4.5 of n-310 200 gr swc my technique must be suffering
  11. I just started shooting .45 again from a 9mm 1911 with Bomar type sights. The Pistol is equipped with Stock fixed Novak type sights. This is the second .45 I've Owned in same cal and sight setup, My problem is that Im hitting 6in low at 15ft Every time I shoot a gun with Novaks I shoot like this. I can shoot other types of sights fine , This is odd. Whats my major malfunction? Thanks MIke
  12. Yes, but the barrel will have to be removed, then cut at the throat end. The .357 mag cylinder S&W K frame cylinder is a tad longer than the .38 spl cylinder. Otherwise the front of the cylinder would hit the barrel when you attempt to close the cylinder. Well this is true of all the K frame guns I own, which are many but 1960 -1980 vintage. MJ Thank you! Any idea on frame hardness or heat treat between the 38 and 357 guns?
  13. LOL yes I meant Red Hawk. Im feeling with stout 45acp loads in such a heavy gun you could have a good fast combo.
  14. I have an opportunity to buy a 454 Super RED Hawk for a good price. Ive seen companies offering a 45 acp moon conversion Im thinking with a little barrel chop and trigger work I could have a great Pin gun shooting some heavy 45 acp stuff. Any one care to chime in on the accuracy of this setup or have even seen one? Im sure this would work for a Smith in 45lc also. I like the Idea of being able to shoot 3 different rounds in 1 gun. Mike
  15. I heard the 65 and 66 frames were heat treated differently to cope with the 357. will a 65 cylinder fit in a model 10 frame ( I understand this could be a recipe for disaster ) just wanna know if it will fit? Thanks Mike
  16. Has any one here had a K frame rechambered for moons and 9x23 or 9mm? Just seeing how well it worked out. Thanks Mike
  17. Thanks for posting! Ive been wanting an EMP for quite some time, I was going for the 9 but the .40 looked so much better with it's steel frame, this goofy feeding is not good for a carry gun, Im wondering if the OAL of the .40 rounds is causing this? Or the mag lips? I dunno but I hope you get it sorted so I can learn from ya on what I may have to do to mine. Thanks Mike
  18. I just bought a Rock Island for a Brownells 1911 Gunsmithing class Im taking down at my school in Trinidad CO. These are very popular to customize due to the Price. I just wanna know how the stock internals clean up, and if the barrel should be replaced. Also are these made on CNC machines? Thanks Mike
  19. 3.5 sec is that with a dot or open sights?
  20. Yep In a Glock 34 it gets kinda dramatic. But if you hit a pin in the right spot it Whomps em. Glancing blows are a bit of a prob with the XTPs so is price WHEW!! Im looking at a wide Meplat lead bullet in the 140-160gr range and 3n38 for a nice 9mm Knockem down load. Now on the otherhand a 38 super+p or 9x23 with a 180 could be just what the doctor ordered if you wanna shoot auto. The 230s in a 38 case seem to be the Holy Grail, but my skills are pretty poor with a revo. Mike
  21. Just try and buy some from Penn Bullets. I ordered some last October. Still waiting. DITTO Ive been trying every few months for more than a year also, I think he has no interest in making this bullet. I wish he would take it off his site, very frustrating for me LOL. Mike
  22. Well just got my dandy new SJC convertable comp/rail doohickey. pretty cool, I wanted to test how well the comp worked in 9mm, I had about 400 124gr precision bullets with n-350 loaded kinda hot. Shot em, recorded data and went home. when I took the blaster apart, to my suprize LOL I had a nice new poly/moly thick coating on my crown, my muzzle, and of course the comp. Bad phone pic! Can I use whit vin and peroxide or ?????? Not too happy with the coating transfer, but it is burning off the bullet the whole time down the barrel. any body else have this happen, similar? Thanks Mike
