UPDATE: The following message was sent to the customer on Feb 3, 2022, and a resolution was reached that same day. Dear Customer (name withheld for privacy), I am sorry that your handguard installation hasn’t gone well. When you first contacted us, on 9/17/21, you said that the handguard had shifted position, in spite of your having tightened the eight screws on the outside of the handguard. I wrote back to you within an hour, that the issue seemed to be that the trunnion was not properly affixed to the barrel nut, thereby allowing the entire handguard to rotate on that axis. The eight screws on the outside of the handguard are there to secure the carbon fiber to the trunnion. It's most likely, that the 3 screws on the trunnion were not properly torqued and "Loctited," which allowed the trunnion to rotate on the barrel nut. The next message we received, was on December 1st, when you told us about the handguard continuing to slip along the trunnion, and that your gunsmith wanted to be paid to remount it, saying that the handguard was defective. This is the point at which I dropped the ball. In the midst of a very busy holiday season, I lost track of our conversation. For this, I apologize profusely! This lack of communication would have upset me as well. As for the quality of our products, we stand behind them, period. Manufacturing defects occur in all products, but I can tell you that having sold many thousands of handguards, I have never encountered a trunnion that could not be properly secured to the barrel nut. If you would like to exchange your handguard for a new one, I will absolutely make that happen. If you prefer some other resolution, let me know. Lots of great reviews for them online. I sent my Benelli M1 trigger group to them last year to have the lifter welded. I think I paid $45. They did the work and had it back in my hands in under two weeks. It functions flawlessly, and my thumb is so much happier now!

I bought this one on Amazon, $12.99. It fastens to your belt with three snaps, and stays securely in place. It has a drawstring closure and also rolls up, out of the way when not being used. One thing that makes it useful for me, is the stiff band around the opening. Great question! The dimensions of my car's trunk place definite constraints on my choice of shotgun. Like you, I have wondered if there were solutions, but I would add, eliminating the need to remove and replace magazine extensions, springs, and follower, when breaking the shotgun down.

Thanks, CJW! I ordered the hanger and mounted it over the weekend. I haven't had a chance to attend a match with it yet, so I just tried running and jumping up and down with it. Not as useful as a real trial run, but it sure did feel solid. So far, I'm really happy with the way it works. I can't wait for our local club's next match! Thanks everyone!

I have a question about the Invictus Practical Holster Hanger. My current setup for 3-Gun, is: Pistol: M&P C.O.R.E. 9mm 4.5" Holster: 5.11 Thumbdrive Belt Mount: Large TMMS Mount, attached to a Tek-Lok mount The current configuration keeps the pistol in place very nicely, but it seems like it's too high, making drawing and reholstering a bit awkward. If I add the IP Holster Hanger to this setup, will it still be as stable on my hip? The offset has me wondering if it would flop around. Thanks in advance for your feedback. -Bruce99-

Good to see a fellow A3G shooter here. I recently bought a Benelli M1, and with upgrades, it is similarly equipped. Kurtm's estimate perfectly matches my recent experience...to the penny! If you have any desire to sell the 21" barrel separately, after the November match, let me know. Mine is 18.5". A 21" barrel would be a great option.

Wow, congrats on the M1. Great price! I just bought one too, and got a chance to use it last weekend in a local 3G match. I really loved it. I hope yours works out well for you.

Thanks, everyone. I took the "new" M1 to a 3G match on Sunday. The shotgun ran great! @Dogtired...you mentioned patterning the gun. I did that for 2 chokes before the match, and I was really glad that I did. You're right, that helped a LOT! I used both chokes, IM (1 stage), and IC (rest of match), and understanding their patterns made a big difference. Loading Practice - there were several suggestions about practicing loading. So, as of now, I can load DEUCES with my support hand while walking. I need to get faster, but it's coming along. I tried QUADS a few times and ended up with more shells on the floor than in the tube. I was using my support hand. After picking up the loose rounds....LOTS of them, I checked out a bunch of YouTube vids to see how everyone else is loading quads. Aparently, I'll need to try this with strong hand. Lots of stuff to practice. Thanks again, everyone!

7.62mm, Thanks. I will definitely be following that advice! I need LOTS of practice, loading. As for the ghost ring sights, I'm not thrilled with them. The barrel doesn't have a vent rib, i.e. the front sight is mounted directly to the barrel, so I may not have a lot of options with that. I'm considering removing the rear, ring sight and using only the front sight. Thanks again!

Thanks, Phil. I've started doing some of the things that you mentioned. I have some dummy rounds that I used before going to the range. Sounds like dry firing may be in my future too. That should be a good way to build that muscle memory. As for patterning, I did that, and there were no surprises. Tried it with each choke, and they all performed as expected. I recently bought a used Benelli M1 Super 90 with ghost ring sights and a conventional stock, i.e. no pistol grip. This is my first experience with ghost ring sights and with the "Benelli Button" (carrier release button), so I wanted to get used to using both before my next 3 Gun match, next week. I'm a relatively inexperienced shooter in 3 Gun, so there isn't a whole lot of "muscle memory" for me to fall back on. Here's the practice drill that I used. Set up five targets (roughly 20 yards away). Load two shells, one in the chamber, and one in the tube. Shoot targets #1 and #2, resulting in bolt open, empty shotgun. (This helped me get used to the ghost ring for the first shot and for the follow up shot. Swipe the shell from the Matchsaver into the chamber. (first time using a Matchsaver too - currently held on with velcro) Load two shells from the belt caddy (not ready for quads yet), leaving one in the chamber and two in the tube. (This helped me simulate an empty gun reload) Reshoulder gun and shoot targets #3 - #5. (Helped me get used to getting gun back on target after reloading, and then with the follow up shots. I'm glad that I had the chance to try out the shotgun before next week's match. This practice drill helped. I learned / confirmed that I am really SLOOOOOOW and will need to practice these basics A LOT. Not quite sue that the Matchsaver will work on this gun. I'll need to look more closely at the mounting position before drilling the forearm. What other drills do you folks use to develop / firm up you basic shotgun skills, particularly as they relate to shooting 3 Gun?

Thanks everyone! So, here's the update: I sent the trigger group to C-Rums to get the lifter welded, and I ordered another Nordic Components tube that will give it a capacity of 8+1. By the way, the stock does not have a pistol grip. Now comes the hard part.....waiting for everything to get here!

Roxymajor - Thanks, It doesn't have the pistol grip. With the regular stock, do I need to replace the spring after I get the lifter done? LilBunniFuFu - Thanks. At the moment, I'm using weak hand, dual. I either need a lot of practice to move up to quad loading, or I may consider one of those huge speed loading systems. Wow, is there any end to the number of toys available? :-)

I found a used Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical at a price that I can live with. I am picking it up tonight. It has an 18.5" barrel, and its capacity is 7+1. I had a JM Pro that never would function properly, so I got rid of it and decided to wait until I could find something affordable, and better than the JM. I hope this will be the one. I shot several 3 Gun matches last year and loved it. I shoot open/unlimited - I'm really SLOW, but I love using optics on the rifle and pistol, so open/unlimited works for me. The M1 would be just for 3G. The upgrades that are already on my radar, are: lifter and loading port. I'm also considering a longer tube, front sight (need to see what it has first), What else does this Benelli need? Thanks in advance for your input.

Good Luck with that!! LOL. Yeah, that didn't work out too well. Now, I'm looking to upgrade my shotgun, so I listed a kidney on eBay.

I'm new to 3-gun, so I tried to keep my costs manageable. (Well, that was the plan when I started.) There a a lot of really nice, high-dollar accessories out there, but I went with the Blade Tech, Tek-Lok. I use the double mag pouch for the M&P and the single pouch for the AR. I've shot six matches and I'm pleased with both.

@CJW - Thanks for the explanation. I guess I'll take the mag coupler and a few extra pmags of varying capacity just to be sure. I also ordered a Blade Tech mag pouch that I plan to wear at 4:00 on the weak side, bullets down, bullets facing strong side. We'll see how it works on the 31st. Thanks again.

Hi everyone, This is my first post. I'm new to the forum and new to 3-Gun too - 1st match in 3 weeks. I'm trying to get familiar with the rules and this thread made me wonder about swapping mags on the AR. I have a Magpul MagLink Magazine Coupler (link below) that I received as a gift, but have never used. Is this legal for the Open Division? ....other divisions? Do you think that it's more of a gimmick than a useful tool? I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually used one. (Sorry...could not post link. Apparently I need more posts to enable this option.)
