  1. I have a friend that runs the 230gr truncated cone tumble lube lee bullets with great success. Alot depends on how hard you make the bullet. It is my understanding that the harder the bullet, the more likely it is to cool over size. He wrote an article on it a few months ago about casting for USPSA shooting. I will try and find a link for you.

  2. In my opinion no go! For the money I would go for a Nightforce 5.5-22 nxs with either the NP-R1 or NP-R2 reticle. It really does depend on what YOU are going to do with the gun. For what I would do with the gun, the afformentioned scope would be my choice.

  3. Hmmmm. Last month I had a fraudulent charge on my chase visa card. No problems with customer service. They closed the account, reversed charges, and opened a new one within 5 minutes over the phone. Wells Fargo seems just as efficient. Now BofA, thats another story altogether. Notice a trend here? Seems like ALL of the large banks are hit and miss depending on who you get on the oither end of the phone.

I had the same experience 3 months ago with Chase.

Wonder if Pitts experience was due to policy or poor training.

  4. I would like an attachment point for outer belt. I currently attach mine on my CED at the ring/carry handle on top. This puts the belt in the way when you carry the bag.

Carrying 400 rounds of ammo is too much for me. I am looking for a pack for the day. With 200 rounds I notice how much heavier the pack is. I would rather refill inbetween shooting days at major matches than carry all my ammo.

I like the mag pouch set up on the ced with the fold down flap. It gives you somewhere to set your stuff while you clean your mags. 6 or 8 pouches.

The inside needs more attachment points or pockets to keep stuff organized. Pockets for Glasses, Ear protection, valuables(wallet, keys, watch)

I can do with out the stool.

I keep a small tool set in one of the pouches on the shoulder straps. In the other I keep a bottle of sunscreen.

Rain Fly is an excellent suggestion.

Edited to add that I prefer the gun rugs/pouches to a hard case or anything permanently attached to the pack.

Overall the CED is a pretty good design. I would just prefer that it was made by a backpack manufacturer. I think the design carried out better if manufactured like a heavy use backpack.

  5. What is the competition gear! When he shoots the gun he gets slide bite! Therefore he wears a glove when he shoots the gun. The glove would be safety gear. Maybe the question is would he put the glove on in a defensive situation if given the chance? :D Similar to the movies where the bad guy pulls on a tight glove while giving the speech right before he gets his gun.

I doubt anyone wears earmuffs or safety glasses all day incase they encounter a defensive situation. I put the gloves on level with ear protection and eye protection!

  6. What about this guy, he looks pretty cool.

Holy crap that thing is thick. If you have a Costco near you I would swing by and take a look at the watches they have. They always have an interesting cross section of watches including most of the brands mentioned here, and their prices are always great. My wife just got me a Wenger from there that is really nice. Does not fit your requirements for back light or alarm, but I like it.

Edited to add that Citizen Ecodrive is probably a great choice to fill your wants.

  7. I am really hard on my work watches. Casio G-shock all the way. I am on my second one in 15 years. The 1st one is still being worn by a friend. I have had to replace the watch band on my newer one(8-9 years old) and that is it. Timex watches would last me about 6 months to a year.
