  1. I run all dillons, but I will try and give you some ideas anyway.

Why put the bullet on before the press indexes? If the press indexes on the up stroke, than that is poor design. If not, then put the bullet on after the press indexes. If worse comes to worse, ride the bullet with your fingers until it starts into the seating die, then grab the next bullet while you finish the stroke of the press.

The cases going into the casefeeder tube sideways might be fixed by a shim. I am sure the casefeeder tube is tapered at the top to accomodate pistol and rifle cartridges. You might be able to use a shim at the top to narrow down the taper when you are loading shorter cartridges.

As far as the cases jumping out of the casefeeder, climb up there and watch the thing run and see what they are getting caught on. My guess is that something is sticking out and catching the cases and sometimes causes enough bind to launch the case. You should be able to see what it is by watching.

As far as the other issues with cases not being inserted correctly, probably adjustment issues.

Then again you could just get the dillon. At least all the fixes for issues are posted on this website.

  2. How did you recognize each other without your hat, muffs and shooting glasses on ???

    :)

That is no joke. I went to a club annual meeting last saturday and sat with another shooter. We introduced ourselves and talked for an hour or so.

Sunday I see him after the match and he has no clue who I am with, you guessed it, glasses, hat and muffs. :roflol:

I do not think I want either of you working on Americas Most Wanted. All the villains would have to do is put on glasses, muffs and a hat and they would be scott free. :roflol:

  3. Years ago I had a Pro 1000 and had MAJOR problems with the primer feed. They may have made improvements, or I could have had a lemon. On the other hand, I've had very few problems with Dillon.

    Good Luck!

I have a buddy that loads exclusively on Lee progressives. Last weekend he had primer feed problems at 25 minutes/ repair. In his words, he would much rather have the dillons, and if he ever finds a deal on one he will definately snatch it up. He has the Lee loaders for now, but would prefer the dillons.

  4. I am setting up a airsoft range in my basement right now. Several of the guys I shoot with and practice with are excited about it and are purchasing new equipment to come and shoot inside this winter.

It is a training tool. Not a replacement. I could see a seperate leauge start up, but I do not think it would not be well attended by USPSA shooters. Some people I have talked to use their airsoft without bb's so it is like dry fire where you get trigger reset.

    To answer your questions:

Would you purchase new equipment--I already own airsoft equip

Would you travel an hour to attend a match--No. If I am going to travel to a match, I am going to be shooting a USPSA match

On a side note, I do see another advantage to airsoft trainging that will be useful in general, and that is training in the dark. The people I practice with have been playing around with flashlights and shooting in low light situations. ROing in the dark can pose some problems. I think we will play around with shooting in pitch dark this winter with our airsoft guns, which will help avoid some potential safety problems of live fire. Not a

Airsoft has some advantages useful to our sport. The use of it as a training tool will continue to increase.

  5. The name of the game when plowing snow is either speed or power. You need to move the snow out of the way(way out of the way) or over the course of the winter, your driveway will shrink. Most lawn tractors do not go fast enough to throw the snow very far, so you have to push it. I have a Husqvarna 25hp lawn tractor. It has the power to push the snow where I want most of the time, but tire chains are a must. All the power in the world will not help you if you can not get any traction. I also have a father with a snow plow on his truck, and he takes care of the snow for me most of the time. Most of the people recommending 4 wheelers are getting it done because they go fast enough to get that snow thrown out of the way.

My recommendation to you would be to get one of the light weight blades for your Toyota truck. 2 or three runs up and down your driveway and you are done!!!

  6. I like shooting SHO/WHO better than I like listening to people complain about it. It is just andother test of shooting abilities. Our local club's first classifier this year had 4 out of 6 stages with SHO/WHO. That may be a little much, but those were the stages to shoot.

  7. Have not seen this yet, so I cannot vote(3rd question). I do not get out a tape measure and go over the course of fire, but I will usually check the stages out online a week or so before the match. Then check the stage description before shooting the stage. I would think our club would either fix it if it had not been shot, or run it as a non classifier stage if it had been shot.

  8. If I were you I would just buy a used limited gun. That way you will spend less and it will probadly come with mags. Shoot that for a while and that will give you time to find out what you like in a gun. Then you can get a 6 inch built later on.

+1, Keep you eyes peeled here. A used 6" gun just sold on here for $1250 I think.

  9. I just got my GR-x kit from Bauer Arms yesterday. I was going to just run all of my brass, and then decided to run some of my loaded rejects. They went right thru the die and all 120 previously rejected rounds case gauged fine.

I am going to load my rounds, case gauge, and then run only the rejects thru the GR-X. Seems like it will be way faster then running every case.

    Randy

Edited because I do not read instructions. The Redding instruction sheet tells you not to size loaded ammo.

I ASSumed the pusher was recessed at the primer contact area so that you could size loaded ammo without pushing on the primer. I am obviously wrong!
