  1. There is actually a small rollypolly in the bottom of the bottle holder. It gets clipped on the outside at some matches for brass collection.
  2. Alright.....the contents of what I carry in my bag: It is 18" tall,10" wide and 12" deep when fully expanded. Weighs 27# with 250 rounds ammo Main back compartment -Large pistol rug with Limited gun and 8 mags -200-300 rounds of pistol ammo(I have carried as much as 500 rounds with no issues.....it just gets heavier) Middle compartment Two different size pelican cases-Small one has spare parts/Large one is a full tool kit I keep a spare inner belt, magazine cleaning brush and some Cramer grip powder in there. Still a little more room for more stuff if need be. Front compartments Top one has my Rudy Project case with my glasses Bottom one has a first aid kit,bug spray, sunscreen,USPSA rulebook,9 volt batteries, pens, small notepad and calculator. Insulated Bottle Pouch on side I added this pouch Camelbak water bottle Pocket on side of bottle pouch CED7000 and some antifog cleaner for my glasses and some hand sanitizer gel Hydration slot on rear of bag I don't put a hydration bladder in there. Instead I keep a stool that folds flat and stores nicely in there. Along with 2 contractor grade trash bags.
  3. I will post some pics this afternoon of how and what I carry in my bag. And show how it all fits.
  4. Thanks for the info guys. Keep it coming. So far I believe I am going to get the STI Slimline version. What needs to be done to get the SV trigger to work in the frame? Is it better just to go back with an STI trigger?
  5. Actually the Tek Lok is fine. Measures just under 1 7/8" The Stingray is 1/3/4"
  6. For the first couple of 3 gun matches I shot I used the Leupy VXI 1-4 with duplex reticle. It worked fine. The duplex reticle is a bit thicker than the Weaver but the Leupy went up to 4x. Any of the 1-4x scopes should serve you well as a starter scope for 3 gun.
  7. The only thing I added was the small insulated bottle holder on the side. Takes two large malice clips to attach. Adding too much additional stuff really throws off the good balance of the pack.
  8. Yeah....an open gun may fit but so tightly it would be a pain to hget it in and out. The Colossus would fit it much better.
  9. Roger....is yours the standard width or slimline? Does STI make the grip tape or did you cut it to fit?
  10. After having a Jumbo........you may want to consider the Colossus. A little bit bigger and better suited. The jumbo just isn't quite wide enough. The Colossus is only slightly larger.
  11. YEAH.......what Singlestack said But they also cannot offset more than 2" from the inside of the inner belt as stated in appendix D and shown in Appendix E2
  12. Both grips are on the market now and available for sale. I've seen many in the classifieds where folks have bought and sold them. If you have bought one and fitted it or shot one on your gun......what was/is your impression of how it changed the gun? More recoil/less recoil? Does it reload good? Feel? Was it easy to fit? How did it change the overall balance of the gun? Can you weigh the pros and cons for me as I am borderline interested on getting one for my STI if it does not sell.
  13. I've had one of the 1-4's with the FC2 reticle and found it difficult to pick up at speed. If it would illuminate bright enough to be visible in the sun it would be great. I seriously believe the NPR2 would not be the best choice in this scope for what we do. Hard to pick up and too busy. The FC2 worked great out to 400 with a 200 yard zero with what reference the reticle gives you. And 500 yard hits were easily repeatable on 10" plates. The turrets were also very easy to see and dial dope. That is my preferred method for engagement over 300. I much prefer hold dead on and get first round hits. Also much easier to dope misses in wind when you are holding dead on. But what works great for me does not necessarily work for everyone else. The turrets were my favorite part of the NF.
  14. Maxpedition makes a pack called the Falcon II. Almost as if it was built for our sport. It is awesome for a pistol/range bag. Very well built. I have 3 of them and can't say enough good about them
  15. Musta been real short lived......got any info on it?
  16. The newest scope out by IOR for 3 gun is the 1x4 Pitbull. It is either 1x or 4x....no in between. But it comes in a rather small compact size although still heavy in comparison. I am not aware of IOR ever having a true 1x-8. Only one I know of tis the 1.5-8. It is very heavy but the glass is very nice. Illumination is not daytime visible. The new CQB reticle with the thinner horseshoe is much improved over the old thick horseshoe.
  17. Browning Gold and FN SLP as well as the SX3 are the same stock
  18. I'm sorry to hear about your loss my friend. You guys are in my prayers. If you need anything......you know the drill.
  19. They are good stuff. They are local to me. I've got several and have had zero issues with them. They have some nice features and huge magwells. I have seen them relatively cheap around here. The company tooled up to make a ton of them to supply the demand and then the demand has sorta petered out and now they have lots of lowers to move.
  20. The so called "beer can reload" or "outside grab" on the mag has gained popularity from the insert and tug method of verification that the mag is seated upon a reload. Thats a big part of the reason I changed from bullets forward to bullets back. It also made my reloads more efficient and as you said.....gives me better control.
  21. I'm just glad to see Ruger turning around as a company from what they used to stand for back before the AWB and up to about 2 years ago. Their new direction is promising. I looked at one of the rifles at a local shop Wednesday night. It was a pretty nice rifle wit a great fit and finish. The trigger on that one felt heavy but broke clean and crisp. But its not advertised as a match trigger. Its just a standard trigger and I really don't expect more than that. Local price was like $1500. Looks like their CS with Eric is first rate.
  22. Low rings are too low,and highs are too high. Medium Warnes work pretty well. I had one of the high rise uppers early on and do not have a need for another because of the mounting options being limited....I just did not care for it.
  23. It made it on the approved list about two or three weeks ago. You are good to go now. The 17 and 22 RTF are listed.
  24. Get high rings for the scout rail. Mediums are too low. Normally you need xtra high. Larue makes QD rings that you can mount on the opposite side.
  25. Daylight illumination is not a requirement but it sure is a benefit. I used to use scopes that were not daytime visible but the first time I used the Short Dot after not having illumination.....I realized how fast and beneficial it is for the fast targets 25 yards and in. It was truly night and day to me. Much easier to track under fire too. I highly prefer and recommend daytime illumination. And after having a NF......I can say it was a great scope. If it had illumination it would be hard to beat.
